Insecurity Build One Another Up

Insecurity

Build One Another Up

We need one another if we are going to overcome our insecurities

We need the experiences and knowledge of others, like they say

“A wise man learns from his mistakes

A wiser man learns from the mistakes of others”

We also need to be motivated to move past our insecurities by others

But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called Today, so that none of you may be hardened by sin's deceitfulness. Hebrews 3:13

Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another — and all the more as you see the Day approaching.      Hebrews 10:25

Build One Another Up

 Insecurity is…

a feeling of inadequacy (not being good enough) and uncertainty. It produces anxiety about your goals, relationships, and ability to handle certain situations. Everybody deals with insecurity from time to time. It can appear in all areas of life and come from a variety of causes.

Insecurity is a normal part of life.

We are born into this world with nothing.

It is the help of others that

develops security in our lives.

Life was never meant to be done alone.

I have a saying…

Life is meant to be lived and shared with others

WMS

Jesus said, I came that you might have life

and have it to the full, to have abundant life.

God does not want you to live life with anxiety.

This is the first lesson we

need to learn about insecurity.

God formed you in your

mother’s womb to give you life.

He gave you abilities.

Our birth process gives you and I

 a personal connection with God.

All of us must develop

to overcome insecurity.

Life is meant to be lived,

but if we don’t have someone to share

it with, we will miss out on life’s fullness.

There is a story of a pastor who never

missed preaching on Sunday morning.

He had a very full schedule and decided

he would ask one of the leaders in the

church to preach the Sunday morning message.

He did not tell anyone why he

would not be in church on Sunday.

When that Sunday came,

he went to the golf course.

As he stood alone at the tee

area looking at a par 4 hole.

He thanks God for a beautiful day and tee off.

The ball went high in the sky and makes

an amazing bounce right for

the pin and dropped into the hole.

With unbelief the pastor through his

club in the air and shouted Hallelujah.

He says, “I can’t believe it, a hole in one.”

After settling down from his seemingly

blessed shot of the day, the pastor came

to the reality he could never share his joy with

others or they will find out he skipped church.

“Life is meant to be lived and shared with others.”

Our insecurities in life may make the

process of sharing life with others difficult.

For me I avoided and hide

my insecurities from others.

Some people will show aggression

to hide their insecurities.

I worked with a leader,

a man I loved and he loved me,

but when things did not

go his way he became aggressive

(an intimidation tactic).

One day we were face to face and

he was as I call it barking at me.

I very calmly said to him I will

not be intimidated by your barking.

Later this leader came to me sincerely

apologizing, confessing he needed

to learn how to work through issues

rather than barking when he felt insecure.

Insecurity is a normal part of life,

because we are always learning.

1 Corinthians 13, the love chapter says…

We know in part, we don’t see things

clearly until Christ comes back for us.

Three things must remain in us as we live each

day with a lack of knowledge and insecurity…

Faith, Hope and Love

Because we all live life with

insecurities, we need God…

But you, dear friends, build yourselves up in

your most holy faith and pray in the Holy Spirit.

Keep yourselves in God's love as you wait for the

mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to bring you to eternal life.

Jude 20-21

We also need one another…

Each of us should please his neighbor for his good,

to build him up.

For even Christ did not please himself but,

as it is written:

"The insults of those who insult you have fallen on me."

Romans 15:1-3

So it is with you.

Since you are eager to have spiritual gifts,

try to excel in gifts that build up the church.

1 Corinthians 14:12

Therefore encourage one another and

build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.

1 Thessalonians 5:11

We need one another if we are

going to overcome our insecurities.

We need the experiences and

knowledge of others, like they say…

“A wise man learns from his mistakes,

a wiser man learns from the mistakes of others”

We also need to be motivated to

move past our insecurities by others…

But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called Today,

so that none of you may be hardened by sin's deceitfulness.

Hebrews 3:13

Let us not give up meeting together,

as some are in the habit of doing,

but let us encourage one another —

and all the more as you see the Day approaching.

Hebrews 10:25
