James The Path of Truth

James

The Path of Truth

The Path of Truth, the leading of the Lord, never lets us down

For anyone who has walked the Path of Truth can say God’s Word never fails

You cannot find one thing in God’s Word that will hurt you or others

So for the person who has been on the Path of Truth you can look back

And see that the Truth of God’s Word has always made your life better

And protected you

Sadly, some of us wander from the Truth

James tells us we should go after them

Just the Joy and Peace you have can many times be enough

To help the wanderer to return to the Path of Truth

Other times, you will need to share the Word of Hope

So they can see life is better on the Path of Truth

The Path of Truth takes us through all the changes

And conditions of life and leaves us with Joy and Peace

Most of all when we come to the end of this life

The Path of Truth continues to lead us into eternity

Let your Joy and Peace you have from walking on the Path of Truth

Be seen by others so they will desire to walk on the Path of Truth

The Path of Truth

Imagine being born with a GPS

built into your body.

And at any time you could turn on a screen

and see on a map every place you have been.

Your life mapped out from beginning to end.

Life is a path.

The path will change…

 Sometimes it will be smooth

and other times rough.

Sometimes challenging to climb

and other times down to a valley.

We move on that path slow at times

and see every detail around us.

At other times we are running and

only the goal before us is in sight.

Sometimes the path is clear and other

times covered with obstructions.

Never the less, life is a path.

An interesting question is…

“What guides you on the ever changing Path of Life?”

Equality important is this question…

“What is at the end of your path?”

The Psalmist says…

I have set the LORD always before me.

Because he is at my right hand,

I will not be shaken.

Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices;

my body also will rest secure,

because you will not abandon me to the grave,

nor will you let your Holy One see decay.

You have made known to me the path of life;

you will fill me with joy in your presence,

with eternal pleasures at your right hand.

Psalms 16:8-11

The Psalmist sets the Lord before him as his

guide and at his right hand to empower him.

This makes him glad and secure.

He sees the Path of Life

goes beyond the grave.

The Psalmist last words are so beautiful…

You have made known to me the path of life;

you will fill me with joy in your presence,

with eternal pleasures at your right hand.

This is a person that is

enjoying the Path of Life.

In Psalms 77:19-20, we get a picture

of the Children of Israel and the path

from Egypt to the Promise Land…

Your path led through the sea,

your way through the mighty waters,

though your footprints were not seen.

You led your people like a flock

by the hand of Moses and Aaron.

Unseen foot prints led them through the sea.

They were led like a flock of sheep.

Luke 1:79 tells us Jesus came…

To shine on those living in darkness

and in the shadow of death,

to guide our feet into the path of peace."

What is so interesting is those of us who have

made the Lord our Guide and our Source of Power…

Those of us who know the path is a Path of Truth

because it led to peace and joy, would wander off the path.

The Psalmist also says…

Your word is a lamp to my feet

and a light for my path.

Psalms 119:105

Why would those of us who have had the

Word of God light up our path turn, off the Light?

The Path of Truth,

the leading of the Lord,

never lets us down.

For anyone who has walked the Path of

Truth can say God’s Word never fails.

You cannot find one thing in God’s

Word that will hurt you or others.

So for the person who has

been on the Path of Truth…

You can look back and see that

the Truth of God’s Word has always

made your life better and protected you.

Sadly, some of us wander from the Truth.

James tells us we should go after them.

Just the joy and peace you have can

many times be enough to help the

wanderer to return to the Path of Truth.

Other times, you will need to

share the Word of Hope…

So they can see life is better

on the Path of Truth.

The Path of Truth takes us through all

the changes and conditions of life

and leaves us with joy and peace.

Most of all, when we come to the end

of this life, the Path of Truth

continues to lead us into eternity.

Let your joy and peace you have

from walking on the Path of Truth…

Be seen by others so they will

desire to walk on the Path of Truth.

Scripture Reading

James 5:19-20 NIV

19 My brothers, if one of you should wander from the truth and someone should bring him back, 20 remember this: Whoever turns a sinner from the error of his way will save him from death and cover over a multitude of sins.
