Family Character

Family
Character

It takes character to build a strong family
My grandparents were people of Godly Character
Their character was a great model for me
The role of the father and the mother in a family are incredible roles
These roles require the right character to make a strong family
Proverbs 31 is a passage describing the wife of noble character
Verse 10 starts with a question
A wife of noble character who can find?
I have always read this and thought of the challenge to women
As it says noble character is hard to find
I wish there was a Proverbs 32 that mirrored Proverbs 31
Because I think it could start off with the same question
A husband of noble character who can find?
The divorce rate seems to tell us noble husbands and wives are hard to find
Although there would be some modifications between a Proverbs 31 and 32
Husbands & wives roles and character are united in caring and building the family

Character

It takes character to build a strong family.

My grandparents were people of Godly Character.

Their character was a great model for me.

The role of the father and the mother
in a family are incredible roles.

These roles require the right
character to make a strong family.

Proverbs 31 is a passage describing
the wife of noble character.

Verse 10 starts with a question…

A wife of noble character who can find?

I have always read this and thought
of the challenge to women as it says
noble character is hard to find.

I wish there was a Proverbs 32
that mirrored Proverbs 31.

Because I think it could start
off with the same question…

A husband of noble character who can find?

The divorce rate seems to tell us noble
husbands and wives are hard to find.

Although there would be some modifications
between a Proverbs 31 and 32.

Husbands and wives roles and character are
united in caring and building the family.

The first point of character is value.

The more you need something
the more valuable it is to you.

Talk to any single mom or dad and
they will tell you how hard it is to raise
children without a good counter part.

To have a spouse you have full confidence
in and is valuable in every area of
life is a person of noble character.

The spouse that only brings good
and not harm is an unselfish person.

The spouse who selects the best and not
only talks about what needs to get done
but rolls up their sleeves and is eager
to work with their hands…

That is a person of noble character.

Character is not found in sleeping,
it is found in daily sacrifice.

Getting up before everyone else to make
sure the family is nourished well,
who sees they are a servant to the
servants before they start their day…

That is noble character.

The wife as well as the husband uses their
resources to make transactions that will
increase the value of the family.

There is no his money and her money…

Noble character always builds for the common good.

Noble character has muscle,
it is not a lot of ideas.

Goals are good but it takes
physical energy to get things done.

Noble character sees and
understands their strengths.

It uses what they have, knowing
the gift they have is their special
way of providing even if using
that gift means finding extra time
after the day is done to use it.

  People of character are leaders.

They have a firm grip that will help them reach
out to the community, helping the poor and needy.

Families of character reach
beyond their personal property.

People of character are always prepared.

They realize times change and hardships come…

They are not surprised, but prepared.

People of character are not satisfied with the basics.

They look for ways to make their day
and their night special.

 Their dress is important.

Not only the house, but the bedroom
that guests do not see is made to look nice.

People of character make their bed.

The wife of noble character supports
the leadership of her husband.

The husband of noble character makes
his wife proud of his leadership role.

Nobel character cannot survive without
wisdom and a careful use of the tongue.

Noble character is not idle.

Time is understood as a gift…

 They never get it back,
so it is always used wisely.

Noble character does not go unrewarded.

 People notice…

The spouse notices, the children
notice, and the community notices.

So if you find one of these rare
people of noble character…

Make sure you praise their hard work.

Husbands and wives check with your
spouse in the evening of each day.

Ask them about their day and focus on
their accomplishment, whether great or small.

Show appreciation even
if you feel it was their job.

Because in the end you can
make someone’s job a pleasure.

Scripture Reading

Proverbs 31:10 NIV

10 A wife of noble character who can find? She is worth far more than rubies. 11 Her husband has full confidence in her and lacks nothing of value. 12 She brings him good, not harm, all the days of her life. 13 She selects wool and flax and works with eager hands. 14 She is like the merchant ships, bringing her food from afar. 15 She gets up while it is still dark; she provides food for her family and portions for her servant girls. 16 She considers a field and buys it; out of her earnings she plants a vineyard. 17 She sets about her work vigorously; her arms are strong for her tasks. 18 She sees that her trading is profitable, and her lamp does not go out at night. 19 In her hand she holds the distaff and grasps the spindle with her fingers. 20 She opens her arms to the poor and extends her hands to the needy. 21 When it snows, she has no fear for her household; for all of them are clothed in scarlet. 22 She makes coverings for her bed; she is clothed in fine linen and purple. 23 Her husband is respected at the city gate, where he takes his seat among the elders of the land. 24 She makes linen garments and sells them, and supplies the merchants with sashes. 25 She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come. 26 She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue. 27 She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. 28 Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: 29 "Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all." 30 Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised. 31 Give her the reward she has earned, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.
