When the Well Runs Dry

When the Well Runs Dry

When you feel like you are in a dry place
and you thirst for peace and comfort…

There is hope!

Jesus sent the comforter,
His Spirit to quench your thirst.

We can find Him if we draw near.

The following web addresses are comforting videos
we have found to be a blessing in our time of need.

When we built our home,
I put in a multi point system
but we found the shallow system was contaminated
with iron and fine sand restricting the flow.

I hired a company to drill a well
and at 80 feet we found water,
but not a good supply.

So we drilled deeper and found plenty of good water.

When Sandy and I heard the surgeon say
to remove the brain tumor she would lose her hearing
and have facial paralyze along with other possible complications,
our well dried up!

It may have been from all the tears,
but we were drained.

We, for over 30 years, have poured out our lives to others
and there was always water in the well.

Our well didn’t dry up when the Doctor told us the bad news
our well had been drying up for six years up to that point.

The reality of drilling deeper became our only hope.

By faith we know the water,
 the living water is there!

The water I speak of is the water
Jesus spoke of when He met the woman at the well.

It is the water of the Spirit in Ephesians 5:18 NIV.

18 “Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery.
Instead, be filled with the Spirit.
19 Speak to one another with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs.
Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord,
20 always giving thanks to God the Father for everything,
in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

So we find ourselves drilling deeper
by praying more vocally,
and with gratitude for all God
had entrusted us with.

We turned into men and women of faith.

We saturated our hearing
with songs of faith and healing.

And took a fresh look at
God’s Words relating to our needs.

The beauty of this is our well started filling.

We have not become satisfied yet
because we need more;
and it is so good,
we want enough to share with others.

Being filled with the Spirit of God
is the only way to find peace and strength.

The water is free!

But drilling the well will cost you
but it is “well” worth the price!

Scripture Reading

Revelation 21:6-8 NIV

6 He said to me: "It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To him who is thirsty I will give to drink without cost from the spring of the water of life. 7 He who overcomes will inherit all this, and I will be his God and he will be my son.

John 4:7-14 NIV

7 When a Samaritan woman came to draw water,
Jesus said to her, "Will you give me a drink?"
8(His disciples had gone into the town to buy food.)

9 The Samaritan woman said to him,
"You are a Jew and I am a Samaritan woman.
How can you ask me for a drink?"
(For Jews do not associate with Samaritans.)

10 Jesus answered her,
"If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink,
you would have asked him and he would have given you living water."

11 "Sir," the woman said, "you have nothing to draw with and the well is deep.
Where can you get this living water?
12 Are you greater than our father Jacob,
who gave us the well and drank from it himself,
as did also his sons and his flocks and herds?"
13 Jesus answered, "Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again,
14 but whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst.
Indeed, the water I give him will become in him
a spring of water welling up to eternal life."

John 7:37-39 NIV

37 On the last and greatest day of the Feast,
Jesus stood and said in a loud voice,
"If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink.
38 Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said,
streams of living water will flow from within him."
39 By this he meant the Spirit,
whom those who believed in him were later to receive.
Up to that time the Spirit had not been given,
since Jesus had not yet been glorified.
