Word For Today
Your Word for Today is Not New to Jesus
If your Word for Today
is troubling you deep within your spirit and soul
God’s Word is sharp
enough to penetrate to the depths of your emotions
God has seen it all
from the beginning of creation
Your situation is not
new or hidden from Him
You may not be able
to speak the word that describes your day
But the Spirit of God
intercedes for us with groans
When words cannot be
expressed
Our God, Jesus Christ,
can sympathize with us
He became like us to
experience the things that we experience
He can define your Word
for Today
And reveal how to
live out that word without sin
So whatever your Word
for Today is you can take that word to Him
God’s Word is alive
and real as your Word for Today
Your Word for Today
is Not New to Jesus
What is your Word for Today?
Maybe your word is WORK.
If so…
Slaves, obey your
earthly masters in everything; and do it, not only when their eye is on you and
to win their favor, but with sincerity of heart and reverence for the Lord.
Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not
for men, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a
reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.
Colossians
3:22-25
Maybe your word is REST…
There remains, then, a
Sabbath — rest for the people of God; for anyone who enters God's rest also
rests from his own work, just as God did from his. Let us, therefore, make
every effort to enter that rest, so that no one will fall by following their
example of disobedience.
Hebrews
4:9-11
Maybe your word is FAMILY…
These commandments
that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your
children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the
road, when you lie down and when you get up.
Deuteronomy
6:6-7
Maybe your word is FRIENDS…
Do not forsake your
friend and the friend of your father,
and do not go to your
brother's house when disaster strikes you —
better a neighbor
nearby than a brother far away.
Proverbs
27:10
Maybe your word is SORROW…
The LORD is close to
the brokenhearted
and saves those who
are crushed in spirit.
Psalm 34:18
Maybe your word is JOY…
Nehemiah said,
"Go and enjoy choice food and sweet drinks, and send some to those who
have nothing prepared. This day is sacred to our Lord. Do not grieve, for the
joy of the LORD is your strength."
Nehemiah 8:10
No matter what word describes your day,
God’s Word has
something to say to you.
When it comes to God’s Word
there is nothing new under the sun.
If your Word for Today is troubling you
deep within your spirit and soul…
God’s Word is sharp
enough to
penetrate to the depths of your emotions.
God has seen it all.
From the beginning of
creation your situation
is not new or hidden from Him.
You may not be able to speak the word
that describes your day…
But the Spirit of God intercedes for us with
groans when words cannot be expressed.
Our God, Jesus Christ,
can sympathize with us.
He became like us to experience
the things that we experience.
He can define your Word for Today and
reveal how to live out that word without sin.
So whatever your Word for Today is
you can take that word to Him.
Because His throne is a throne of grace.
His favor is on you.
He wants you to receive the full benefit.
If your word is SORROW…
He will turn it to
joy.
If your word is JOY…
He will increase it
so your
joy will flow out to others.
He is there with mercy and praise.
No matter what your Word for Today is…
God knows what time
it is.
Take your Word for Today to Him.
Let Him bring greater
definition and insight…
“Wince we have a great high priest who has gone through the heavens,
Jesus the Son of God,
let us hold firmly to the faith we profess.”
God’s Word is alive and real
as your Word for Today.
Scripture Reading
Hebrews 4:12-16 NIV
12 For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than
any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints
and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. 13 Nothing in
all creation is hidden from God's sight Everything is uncovered and laid bare
before the eyes of him to whom we must give account.
14 Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has gone
through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we
profess. 15 For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with
our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we
are — yet was without sin. 16 Let us then approach the throne of grace with
confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time
of need.
