Yes, to your amazement he will show him even greater things than these.

 

What is the greatest thing you can think of?

If you had one wish what would it be?

(And no asking for more wishes)

The things Jesus did were amazing

Turning water into wine, at His word the winds stop and the waves diminish,

sick people are healed, even dead are brought back to life

What could be more amazing or greater than that?

All these great and amazing things are temporary

The greater thing is to give the amazing things of eternal life

“For just as the Father raises the dead and gives them life,

even so the Son gives life to whom he is pleased to give it.”

Yes, to your amazement he will show him even greater things than these.

The things Jesus did were amazing…

Turning water into wine,

and the waves diminish,

sick people are healed,

even dead are brought back to life.

What could be more amazing or greater than that?

All these great and amazing things are temporary.

The temporary is our life.

Jesus came and did some amazing and

great things for us in this temporary life.

Jesus says that the Father will show Him even

greater things than the amazing miracles Jesus did.

Some of us are crying out to see

the amazing things Jesus did again.

Jesus said these signs will

follow those who believe.

 Mark 16    

Jesus also said that the things He did the

believers in Christ will do even greater things.

John 14:12-14

So what are the greater things?

Some us might think the greater things

would be more things or bigger things.

 

But Jesus gives us the answer.

So what are the greater things?

“For just as the Father raises the dead and gives them life,

even so the Son gives life to whom he is pleased to give it.”

“ETERNAL LIFE”

“…the Father raises the dead and gives them life,…

the Son gives life to whom he is pleased to give it.”

I think we all want to live a great life experiencing

the great things Jesus can do for us now.

But we should never lose sight that this life is temporary.

We will spend eternity somewhere.

The Bible tells us we will all spend eternity

either with God or with the Devil.

If you will, Heaven or Hell.

 

What are the greater things…

the eternal Kingdom of God.

A never ending glory of

the greatest God has to offer.

So are we spending enough time focused

on the greater things or the great things?

They are all amazing.

But focusing on the greater things

will help us keep our priorities straight.

John 5:17-47 NIV

17 Jesus said to them, "My Father is always at his work to this very day, and I, too, am working."  18 For this reason the Jews tried all the harder to kill him; not only was he breaking the Sabbath, but he was even calling God his own Father, making himself equal with God.

19 Jesus gave them this answer: "I tell you the truth, the Son can do nothing by himself; he can do only what he sees his Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does. 20 For the Father loves the Son and shows him all he does. Yes, to your amazement he will show him even greater things than these. 21 For just as the Father raises the dead and gives them life, even so the Son gives life to whom he is pleased to give it. 22 Moreover, the Father judges no one, but has entrusted all judgment to the Son, 23 that all may honor the Son just as they honor the Father. He who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father, who sent him.

You have never heard his voice nor seen his form, 38 nor does his word dwell in you, for you do not believe the one he sent. 39 You diligently study the Scriptures because you think that by them you possess eternal life. These are the Scriptures that testify about me, 40 yet you refuse to come to me to have life.

41 "I do not accept praise from men, 42 but I know you. I know that you do not have the love of God in your hearts. 43 I have come in my Father's name, and you do not accept me; but if someone else comes in his own name, you will accept him. 44 How can you believe if you accept praise from one another, yet make no effort to obtain the praise that comes from the only God?

45 "But do not think I will accuse you before the Father. Your accuser is Moses, on whom your hopes are set. 46 If you believed Moses, you would believe me, for he wrote about me. 47 But since you do not believe what he wrote, how are you going to believe what I say?"
