Jesus’ Words in Red "For God so Loved the World”

Jesus’ Words in Red
"For God so Loved the World”

"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son,
that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

“But God demonstrates his own love for us in this:
While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
Romans 5:8 NIV

“We love because he first loved us.
1 John 4:19

Lord, help me to love the world like you

Thank you for loving me first

Thank you for the demonstration of your love

Help me to demonstrate love first

"For God so Loved the World”

Tell me about the world.

How would you describe the world you live in?

Is it a great place or a place of difficulty?

If you are going on vacation to a resort or just been
to a theme park, maybe the world is a great place.

But if you have been watching the news and seen the
suffering and pain governments and people inflict on
each other you may describe the world as a painful place.

I have had a question for God…

“If heaven is so wonderful what are You waiting for.”

God’s response to me was…

“I came that you might have life abundant and full,
you better figure out what is and not waste a second of it!!!

If you are like me, you have to wonder
about God’s “Love for the World”.

Jesus said…

“For God SO loved the World”

A two letter word gives the measurement of His love.

“So”… How much is that enough that
God the Father sent His only Son.

Think about Jesus leaving heaven and
all its glory to come to the world.

A world that rejected Him then and rejects Him now.

A world that ignores Him.

A world that wants only to take
from Him not giving in return.

A world where even followers of Christ
went into hiding when times got tough.

And, like Peter, when put on
the spot deny knowing Him.

Watching human nature for over 60 years
most of us get offended at a lot less.

If we think we are being rejected, we
lose all love and affection for others.

Just read a little Facebook.

We are quick to act when
we are personally rejected.

But God while we were yet sinners died for us.

That is a demonstration of God’s love.

“But God demonstrates his own love for us in this:
While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
Romans 5:8 NIV

I know John 3:16 is the most memorized
scripture of all the Word of God.

John 3:16 is displayed at major sporting events.

And even on billboards across America.

But as well-known as it is…

We have not come close to understanding
the measure of God’s love for the world.

The fact that God says it is not God’s will that
any should perish (2 Peter 3:9) blows my mind.

I confess I am like the disciples who
wanted to call down fire from heaven.

You got to admit the world would be
better off if some people were not here.

Yet…

"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son,
that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

God loves even those people and does not
want them to perish, but have eternal life.

Although I cannot comprehend the
love of God, I do understand its power.

Because…

“We love because he first loved us.
If anyone says, "I love God," yet hates his brother, he is a liar.
For anyone who does not love his brother,
whom he has seen, cannot love God,
whom he has not seen.  And he has given us this command:
Whoever loves God must also love his brother.”
1 John 4:19-21 NIV

Lord help me to love the world like you.

Thank you for loving me first.

Thank you for the demonstration of your love.

Help me to demonstrate love first.

Scripture Reading

John 3:16-21 NIV

16 "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son.   19 This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. 20 Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. 21 But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God."
