The Blessing

You can have more blessing

 than being the Mother of Jesus

Luke 11:27-28 NIV

“As Jesus was saying these things,

a woman in the crowd called out,

"Blessed is the mother who

gave you birth and nursed you."

He replied, "Blessed rather are those who

hear the word of God and obey it." 

It is hard to image anything more wonderful then

when a woman discovers she is pregnant.

For nine months she can hardly think of anything

 but the life developing within her…

The wonder, the dreams, the

excitement others have for her.

The baby is born and there is no

touch like the soft skin of her child.

It seems every day the child learns and does new things.

Each expression brings the young mother joy.

As the child grows, the mother’s pride increases

as the child accomplishes the goals of life.

Image being the Mother of Jesus.

The child with the perfect temperament.

The honor roll student at school.

The one that sat with religious and civil leaders and crowds

of people teaching them the principles of the Kingdom of God.

A man full of compassion and power to change lives.

It is hard to image anyone being more

blessed then Mary, the Mother of Jesus.

Yet, Jesus says those “who hear the word of God and obey it."

 are blessed more than His Mother.

WOW!!! We can have the greater blessing.

How much blessing do you want?

Increase God’s Word and obedience to it

and you increase your blessing.

 So although giving birth and having

your son be Jesus is a blessing…

I believe Mary’s greater blessing was

hearing the Word of God and Obeying it.
