The Blessing
Comes by Grace
Please God + God’s Grace = One Blessing after Another
John 1:16
Grace means “Favor”.
Favor comes from God in
the same ways we give favor.
Parents of a new born child will want
to do everything they can to see their
child receive everything that child need.
God our Creator looks
at us the same way.
The child did not do anything
to receive the Favor or Grace.
This is the measure of Grace
God gives every one of us.
“The Lord is not slow
in keeping his promise,
as some understand slowness.
He is patient with
you, not wanting anyone to perish,
but everyone to come
to repentance.” 2 Peter 3:9
NIV
The patience of God is Grace.
He does not want anyone to perish but sadly,
the Lord does not
always get what He wants.
There is a grace that is measured according to Ephesians 4:7.
We each have different portions of grace.
This grace refers to gifts given to us by the Holy Spirit.
The reason for different portions is not to
make some rich in grace and other poor.
The reason is diversity in order to unify us.
This grace gives us the ability to do things others
cannot do so we will be useful and needed.
Grace is something
you and I can grow in.
The growing of grace comes from pleasing God.
We see this in Jesus.
“Jesus grew in wisdom
and stature,
and in favor with God
and men.” Luke 2:52 NIV
When
we grow in wisdom and use our God-given
abilities
to please Him, we will find:
“From the fullness of his grace we have
all received one blessing after another.”

Scripture Reading
John 1:14-18 NIV
14 The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We
have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father,
full of grace and truth.
15 John testifies concerning him. He cries out, saying,
"This was he of whom I said, 'He who comes after me has surpassed me
because he was before me.'"
16 From the fullness
of his grace we have all received one blessing after another.
17 For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came
through Jesus Christ. 18 No one has ever seen God, but God the One and Only,
who is at the Father's side, has made him known.
