The Blessing Spiritual blessing of Adoption

The Blessing
Spiritual blessing of Adoption

Many say…
 “We are all God’s children.”

I can’t connect with this
statement or belief, here’s why…

Jesus tells us there are those who claim God is
their Father but He says their father is the devil.

Jesus says His Father teaches Him the truth.

And the Devil is the father of all lies.

There is a language in each family
that reveals the family members.

You can read this in John 8.

In John 3, Jesus makes it clear no one comes
into God’s family unless that person is “born again”.

It is clear God created man and woman
but that does not make us family.

We are all God’s creation
 but not all God’s family.

When we understand our father is the devil,
who keeps us in deception, we can appreciate
the spiritual blessing of adoption.

If you were looking to adopt
what would you be looking for?

Chances are you would not be
looking for deceptive children.

Think about it…“God so loved the world”.

“In love He predestined us to be adopted.”

“God is love”

Adoption is not something you do on a whim.

It takes planning and it takes love.

God sent His Son with an adoption plan.

John 1:10-13 NIV
“He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him. He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God— children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband's will, but born of God.”

Amazingly, Jesus came to adopt sinners.

He revealed the adoption plan to thieves,
prostitutes to the unlovable He revealed His love.

The spiritual blessing of adoption
is to “all who receive Him”.

Through adoption we learn a new
language of truth and love.

We are given heavenly mansions where
we can dwell with our loving Father forever.

This spiritual bless is a big deal.

The Blessing Blessing of being holy and blameless

The Blessing
Blessing of being holy and blameless

In Ephesians 1, we are told God had blessed us
with every spiritual blessing in heavenly places.

The first blessing listed in this passage is the
blessing God had for us before we were created.

In God’s plan of creating man, He
created us to be Holy and Blameless.

 Think of Adam and Eve…
Imagine their bodies, minds and spirits uncontaminated.

Physically, the most perfect bodies
ever to walk the face of the earth.

No generational defects, no wounds
or scars, physically or spiritually.

If you have a pain or scars,
you know what it is to be unholy.

Imagine your life without pain and scars.

That has been God’s intention
for us before we were created.

We cannot blame God for those pains and scars.

But there is someone to blame.

It could be a great, great grandparent,
a friend or enemy, even you.

Blaming someone or something
else is a natural tendency…

Because none of us want to be the blame.

Many of us will resort to lying to avoid being blamed.

You may not think about it in the terms of
holy or blameless but that is what we want.

The problem is we have the desire for the
things that contaminate the perfect state of being.

You and I can live for a long time in a
contaminated state but contamination kills.

My wife had a contaminated gallbladder;
it eventually was removed and discarded.

We were not made to die but live forever.

God sent His Son to get us back to the
state of being holy and blameless.

In many cases, He healed people
of the effects of contamination.

People who were in pain or blind,
were healed…restoring holiness.

But all those who were touched by Jesus eventually died.

Yet many did not die without hope.

Jesus died to restore us to holiness and blameless living.

As we believe what He said, and do
those things, we can discover new life.

Even those we can see the truth of God’s Word
reverse the signs of contamination, we too, shall die.

God still wants you and I to be holy and blameless.

And if that is what we want, God has devised a plan.

God’s Son took all our contamination
 upon Himself on the cross.

You and I may have a hard time seeing it but through
Christ, God is able to see those who put their trust in
living according to His Word which reveals how to live.

God sees us as redeemed and promises a
new body, new heaven and new earth;
All holy and blameless, life without contamination.

What a spiritual blessing to be holy and blameless.

Scripture Reading

Ephesians 1:3-4 NIV

3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. 4 For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight.
