When Nothing Else Makes Sense
When things don’t seem to add up…
It may be we have made it too complicated!
There are times in life
where answers are hard to find.
When I can’t seem to find the answers…
When the results I am looking for aren’t there…
When life becomes uncertain…
I have discovered two questions that always make sense…
The first question is:
“Why am I here,
how comes everything around me exist?”
The second question is:
“How could a man die on a cross
and come back to life again?”
The answer to both of these questions comes in one
word…
“GOD”
I can be confused about a lot of things
but there is one thing I can not be confused about…
There is a God who made the heavens and the earth…
And the man who died on the cross
and came back to life is who He said He is…
“GOD”
Simple - “YES” - but profound!
Years ago I was in a small group
sitting in a circle.
Each person shared something
that was special to them.
It came time for an older, quiet man to share
and out of his mouth came some very simple words
that astounded all of us there.
Certainly this man had many experiences in life
and to find the one thing
he appreciated most
must have competed with a large list
of life’s special moments.
But as he spoke there seemed to be
no other thoughts on his mind
as he spoke these simple words…
“Jesus loves me this I know”
God, in all my confusion
as I seek the answers to life,
never let me
forget
how much You love me!
Scripture Reading
Ecclesiastes 12:1 NIV
Remember your Creator
in the days of your youth,
before the days of
trouble come
and the years
approach when you will say, "I find no pleasure in them"
Hebrews 11:6 NIV
6 And without faith
it is impossible to please God,
because anyone who
comes to him must believe that he exists
and that he rewards
those who earnestly seek him.
1 Peter 4:19 NIV
19 So then, those who
suffer according to God's will
should commit
themselves to their faithful Creator and continue to do good.
John 3:16-17 NIV
16 "For God so
loved the world that he gave his one and only Son,
that whoever believes
in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
Habakkuk 3:16-19 NIV
16 I heard and my
heart pounded,
my lips quivered at
the sound;
decay crept into my
bones,
and my legs trembled.
Yet I will wait
patiently for the day of calamity
to come on the nation
invading us.
17 Though the fig
tree does not bud
and there are no
grapes on the vines,
though the olive crop
fails
and the fields
produce no food,
though there are no
sheep in the pen
and no cattle in the
stalls,
18 yet I will rejoice
in the LORD,
I will be joyful in
God my Savior.
19 The Sovereign LORD
is my strength;
he makes my feet like
the feet of a deer,
he enables me to go
on the heights.
