Spiritual Warfare

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Romans 8:35

Description: Love Will Never Be Stress-Free, But It's Worth Fighting For - The Daily Utah Chronicle

Fight for and with LOVE

For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:38,39

There is a spiritual warfare and it centers around destroying the love of God

Either destroying God’s character making Him unworthy

Or, destroying our love making us unworthy

Love never fails

For all the battles you and I fight, all the rejection, failures and hatred

Facing fear and death

Love must never fail in us

So next time you are in a battle remember

The attack is on your character of love

If we fail at love there is hope

If we repent, we will find mercy

Because God is love and mercy triumphs over justice

The question is this

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Romans 8:35

Spiritual Warfare

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Romans 8:35

Romans 8:35-39…

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?

Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?

36 As it is written:

"For your sake we face death all day long;

we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered."

37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Who shall separate us

from the love of Christ?

We are so quick to question God’s love when…

Trouble or hardship or persecution or famine

or nakedness or danger or sword…

Happen in our lives.

How can God be love or exist

if He allows terrible

to happen to good people?

Have you ever questioned God’s love?

The Bible tells us…

 “God is Love”

1 John 4:8,16

It is His love that draws us to Him.

If God ceased to be love…

We would not want Him to be our God.

It is His character the devil works to destroy.

From the time God made Adam and Eve

and birthed us into the world…

God’s love has been under attack.

Satan’s tempting of Jesus in the wilderness

was to take His focus of love for the world

and focus on a selfish love for His own needs.

There is only one way Satan

can defeat God and that is…

To get God to corrupt His character.

Human leaders become corrupt all the time.

When they do not handle

their greed, lust and pride.

But God has never

and never will change…

He will always be the God of Love.

Satan’s strategy is to destroy God’s character.

The devil temps Him

with our rejection of Him.

Rejection is a weapon to destroy love.

Jesus came to destroy

the works of the devil…

The weapon of rejection.

So, Romans 8:35 asks the question…

Who shall separate us

from the love of Christ?

Let’s look at this from two sides…

God separating Himself from us
and us separating from God.

Will God separate from us?

God certainly has plenty of reason to reject us…

To give up on us,

to forget us and serve Himself.

Isaiah addresses this question…

But Zion said, "The Lord has forsaken me,

And my Lord has forgotten me."

15 "Can a woman forget her nursing child,

And not have compassion on the son of her womb?

Surely they may forget,

Yet I will not forget you.

16 See, I have inscribed you on the palms of My hands

Isaiah 49:14-16

God will never forget us

no matter how evil we become.

This does not mean God will not

bring correction or justice.

Pure love will always see the big picture

through the eyes of truth…

Because love never fails.

God over and over again demonstrated

His love for us…

Even when we were sinners

Christ died for us.

Romans 5:8-10…

8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. 9 Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him. NKJV

God demonstrated; He revealed the greatest love by dying for us

My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. 13 Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends.

John 15:12-13

Satan has failed at corrupting God’s character.

God is pure

and has all rights to be God.

So, the second side

 To why the devil comes

to destroy the work of God…

Is to get us to reject God’s love.

Romans 8:36-39 says…

"For your sake we face death all day long;

we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered."

Even angels and demons

do not have the power to

separate us from the love of God.

There is a spiritual warfare…

It centers around destroying

the love of God.

Either destroying God’s character

making Him unworthy.

Or, destroying our love

making us unworthy.

Love never fails.

For all the battles you and I fight…

All the rejection, failures and hatred

 facing fear and death…

Love must never fail in us.

So next time you are in a battle, remember…

The attack is on your character of love.

If you fail at love, there is hope.

If we repent…

 We will find mercy.

 Because God is love

and mercy triumphs over justice.

The question is this…

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?

Fight for and with LOVE.

7 Little children, let no one deceive you. He who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous. 8 He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil. 9 Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God.

God the Father’s Love is the Reason and Center of Spiritual Warfare Part II

Description: 1 Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. 2 And after fasting forty days and forty nights, he was hungry. - ppt download

God the Father loves you

and is seeking you.

He looks in the darkest places

to show His love for you.

This is why…

We love because He first loved us.

1 John 4:19

Christ's love has moved me to such extremes.

His love has the first and last word in everything we do.

2 Corinthians 5:14 MSG

Satan came to destroy the work of God.

He came to destroy God’s greatest love.

Satan came to destroy mankind

who God made in His own image.

Satan has turned the image of God

we were made like into sickness, suffering and death.

But Jesus came to show us

God the Father’s love by… Preaching the good news of the kingdom… all who were ill with various diseases, those suffering severe pain, the demon-possessed, those having seizures, and the paralyzed, and he healed them.

God the Father’s Love is the Reason and Center of Spiritual Warfare Part II

Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil.

The devil’s work is deceiving us…

Getting our eyes off God

the Father and unto ourselves.

This is why we have spiritual warfare.

God the Father is fighting for us

who are created in His image.

He is fighting for our love.

God the Father is seeking to save the lost.

Because of God the Father’s great love

He sent His Son Jesus into the world to save it.

God the Father is merciful when…

He judges our rebellion and sin.

It is…

The goodness of God that leads us to repentance.

The battle is about a choice.

Will we return to our rightful Father, God?

Or…

Will we be influenced by the devil

to serve our lustful desires?

Jesus came to set the captives free.

He came and delivered people

from the works of the devil.

He healed the sick and said…

 “Go and sin no more”

He opened the eyes of the blind

so a person might have sight in both

the natural world and spiritual.

Death came through one man Adam to all.

The devil comes to rob, destroy and kill…

BUT Jesus came to give life in abundance.

The devil came to destroy the works of God.

The last enemy in this spiritual warfare is…

 Death

1 Corinthians 15:21-27…

21 For since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead comes also through a man. 22 For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive. 23 But each in his own turn: Christ, the firstfruits; then, when he comes, those who belong to him. 24 Then the end will come, when he hands over the kingdom to God the Father after he has destroyed all dominion, authority and power. 25 For he must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet.

26 The last enemy to be destroyed is death.

27 For he "has put everything under his feet."

The spiritual war is for your soul.

God the Father loves you

and is seeking you.

He looks in the darkest places

to show His love for you.

This is why…

We love because He first loved us.

1 John 4:19

Matthew 4:23-25

God the Father’s love is the reason

and center of spiritual warfare.

God the Father’s LOVE is the reason and center of spiritual warfare

God the Father’s Love is the Reason and Center of Spiritual Warfare Part I

Satan came to destroy the work of God.

He came to destroy God’s greatest love.

Satan came to destroy mankind

who God made in His own image.

Satan has turned the image of God

we were made like…

 Into sickness, suffering and death.

If you are a parent…

What is the worst thing one

of your children has done?

For some parents they have seen the child

they brought into the world,

the son or daughter they held in their arms…

The extension and love of their life…

Do terrible things.

I have seen parents torn apart

as a judge sentenced their child to prison.

I know of a mother whose son was involves

in youth ministry and became a serial killer.

Talk about pain,

the broken heart of a parent is great.

I have heard parents

whose child became ill say…

“I wish I could take their affliction

in exchange for their child’s health.”

If you personally know

what I am talking about then…

You know the love for the little child

you brought into the world.

The child you looked at when born

to see who more does this child look like…

 Mom or Dad?

The love you have for that child drives you to say…

“I would do anything for that child.”

With all your good intentions and influence

you know that there are other influences

effecting the judgment of your child.

With all the healthy and safety measures

you give your child…

There are harms beyond your control.

If you can identify with

the pain of a parent suffering

because your child is suffering than…

You can identify with God the Father.

Jesus calls God, the Father,

165 times in the Gospels.

1 Corinthians 8:6 says…

…for us there is but one God, the Father,

 from whom all things came and for whom we live;

and there is but one Lord, Jesus Christ,

through whom all things came and through whom we live.

“One God the Father”

From whom all things came and for whom we live.

God the Father created all things.

We live because…

He created Adam and Eve in His image.

God the Father understood the pain

of losing His children, Adam and Eve,

to the influence of the devil.

Adam and Eve could not have

had anything better than

what God the Father provided

in the Garden of Eden.

Yet, Adam and Eve wanted more

as they were influenced by the devil

that there was more.

The choice was made.

Adam and Eve choose

 the same thing Satan choose…

To be their own god.

Love is a choice.

Commitments are made by love.

We choose by what we love more.

God the Father’s Love is the Reason and Center of Spiritual Warfare

He is in a spiritual warfare for you and I

Remember Jesus’s words to Peter

"Simon, Simon, Satan has asked to sift you as wheat. 32 But I have prayed for you, Simon, that your faith may not fail. And when you have turned back, strengthen your brothers." Luke 22:31-32

We too are in a spiritual warfare

It is over where we will put our love

The pain of a parent weeping over their child weather it was the influence to do evil or over a sickness from the devil

Spiritual warfare is real and fought with love
