A nation where our children are killing other children

Our local first responders are facing more battles than our military overseas

How did we get to where we are?

The family is the foundation of society

We must work on proactive measures of healthy living for our families

Although we may not have the answer to how America, a Christian Nation,

Got to the sad state of morality it is in

We can family by family be proactive helping our brothers, sisters, children,

Our spouses, to see the truth and how to walk in it

Who knows the difference your family will make

Who knows how large your family will be in the decades to come

Families grow and become as large as cities       

  Where should the sound of the watchman’s alarm come from?

What should the watchman be sounding the alarm for?

Watchmen

The greatest threat is the unseen enemy.

It is the enemy that is camouflaged

and blends into the surroundings.

It is the enemy that moves in darkness.

The world health organization warns

of the unseen enemy that is in the air.

The 21st-century populations are experiencing

a rash of diseases that were once only outbreaks,

but have now become full-blown epidemics.

Three epidemics: Ebola, influenza and Zika.

We are a very mobile society.

We can travel across the globe in hours.

In a small plane people from around

the world breathe the same air.

If the air in a plane became contaminated,

 it could spread everywhere as passengers

go to their individual destinations.

The job of watching…

The job of seeing the enemy is not easy.

As military leaders and world health organization’s face

threats, they train people to watch and prepare for attacks.

Good parents prepare their home for their children.

They secure dangerous areas.

They keep the house clean and sanitized.

Raising a family is more than loving hugs and gifts.

Raising a family requires the role of the watchman.

Parents who can see the unseen dangers.

Parents who can warn loved ones of danger.

I have a question for America.

America the land of the free.

A nation founded by families of faith in God.

Families who established churches,

hospital, educational facilities.

Families that established

“In God we Trust” on our currency.

A nation where reminders of God is

written on thousands of monuments.

Laws and a Constitution that

focuses on God our Creator.

The question is this…

How did we get to where we are?

A nation where our children

are killing other children.

Our local first responders are facing

more battles than our military overseas.

How did we get to where we are?

The family is the foundation of society.

We got to where we are

because the family has failed.

But how have we failed?

What did the watchmen not see?

Our children are more mobile than ever before.

Whether traveling on a plane breathing the

same air or watching the same social media…

No family can escape the danger.

So who are the watchmen?

Who is looking for the dangers to warn the family?

We rate our movies according to age.

We rate our substances of alcohol,

tobacco, and drugs according to age.

Are the things not healthy

for children ok for adults?

Are the watchmen saying

one thing and living another?

Problems in society used to be “outbreaks”.

But now they are “epidemics”.

Watchmen need to have their eyes open to watch.

The role of the family watchman

is more demanding than ever before.

The watchman is to see the enemy, the threat.

In the days of Nehemiah, there were three very

important roles to protect the city, the family…

  The Watchman, soldiers, and the workers.

As we fight for our families, we will

need to be active in all three roles.

As watchmen we need to know how to sound the call.

As watchman we need to be

careful not to become pessimistic.

We need to keep a positive attitude.

Our warnings should not be

an annoying list of “Do Nots”.

We need to be proactive.

The World Health Organization

is not waiting for an epidemic.

They are working on proactive measures.

We, too, must work on proactive

measures of healthy living for our families.

Although we may not have the answer

to how America, a Christian Nation, got

to the sad state of morality it is in…

We can family by family be proactive

helping our brothers, sisters, children,

spouses, to see the truth and how to walk in it.

Who knows the difference your family will make.

Who knows how large your family

will be in the decades to come.

Nehemiah 4:12-14 NIV

12 Then the Jews who lived near them came and told us ten times over,

"Wherever you turn, they will attack us."

13 Therefore I stationed some of the people behind the lowest points of the wall at the exposed places, posting them by families, with their swords, spears and bows. 14 After I looked things over, I stood up and said to the nobles, the officials and the rest of the people, "Don't be afraid of them. Remember the Lord, who is great and awesome, and fight for your brothers, your sons and your daughters, your wives and your homes."
