Fight for Your Family Find the King

Fight for Your Family
Find the King

Where is the King?
He is in the heart and mind
Changing the world one life at a time
King Herod could not find Him and rules no more
Jesus is still on the throne
And more than any other leader
Jesus’ rule is still changing the world
Because He changes the way we think and feel
The threat is still real
As real as the world is still killing babies
The mind and heart of your children is being attacked
Your family is special, you and your family are amazing
Because God has gifted each of us with favor
You and your family need a King
A King that will rule your thoughts and emotions
Jesus came to be that King
In all your providing, training, caring, loving, protecting
Help your children find the King

Find the King

Imagine being Joseph or Mary…

Mary was greatly troubled at his words and
wondered what kind of greeting this might be.
But the angel said to her,
"Do not be afraid, Mary,
you have found favor with God.
Luke 1:29-30

Bringing a child into the world is
an awesome and frightening thing.

Joseph and Mary must
have felt the favor of God.

Favor that gave them amazing confidence.

Yet the weight of the responsibility…

 Of providing, training, caring, loving,
protecting had to keep them awake at night.

I am sure if you have had a child
you have felt both the joy of favor
and the weight of responsibility.

Joseph and Mary were told who
and what their son was to be…

The Savior of the world.

She will give birth to a son,
and you are to give him the name Jesus,
because he will save his people from their sins."
Matthew 1:21

Their Child would be a King.

You will be with child and give birth to a son,
and you are to give him the name Jesus.
He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High.
The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David,
and he will reign over the house of Jacob forever;
 his kingdom will never end."
Luke 1:31-33

Sandy and I have three children
and seven grandchildren.

We see amazing potential in each one of them.

The favor of God is on their lives.

Each one of them was born to greatness…

As were you and your children.

How favored we are to be
entrusted with such amazing gifts.

How great a responsibility to provide,
train, care, love, and protect them.

Joseph and Mary were warned of the threats
and dangers they and their son would face.

Jesus was born into a world like our world.

Yes, Jesus was special, but it did not make
His life or Joseph and Mary’s life easy.

Joseph and Mary had to
fight for the life of their son.

At around the age of two Joseph and Mary had
to flee because King Herod sought to kill him.

When Herod realized that he had been outwitted by the Magi,
he was furious, and he gave orders to kill
all the boys in Bethlehem and its vicinity
who were two years old and under,
in accordance with the time he had learned from the Magi.
Then what was said through the prophet Jeremiah was fulfilled:
"A voice is heard in Ramah,
weeping and great mourning,
Rachel weeping for her children
and refusing to be comforted,
because they are no more."
Matthew 2:16-18

Joseph and Mary were raising a king.

The shepherds and wise men wanted
to find Him, but so did King Herod…

"Where is the one who has been born king…”

Matthew 2:1-2…

After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea,
during the time of King Herod,
Magi from the east came to Jerusalem and asked,
"Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews?
We saw his star in the east
and have come to worship him."

Where is the King?

Jesus came not to rule in the political area.

He did not come to change
the world by laws and taxes.

He did not come to conquer
lands either good or bad.

Jesus came to rule inside of us.

In the affections and emotions of the heart
and the thoughts and will of the mind.

Your vote does not put Him in office…

But in your heart and mind.

Though Jesus is all inclusive,
He loves the whole world.

He reigns in hearts and minds that receive Him.

Where is the King?

He is in the heart and mind.

Changing the world one life at a time.

King Herod could not find Him…

And rules no more.

Jesus is still on the throne.

And more than any other leader…

Jesus’ rule is still changing the world.

Because He changes the way we think and feel.

The threat is still real.

As real as the world
is still killing babies.

The mind and heart of your
children is being attacked.

Your family is special.

You and your family are amazing because
God has gifted each of us with favor.

You and your family need a King.

A King that will rule your
thoughts and emotions.

Jesus came to be that King.

In all your providing, training,
caring, loving, protecting…

Help your children find the King.

Because He will give them what you can not.

Isaiah 9:6-7 NKJV…

For unto us a Child is born,
Unto us a Son is given;
And the government will be upon His shoulder.
And His name will be called
Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Of the increase of His government and peace
There will be no end,
Upon the throne of David and over His kingdom,
To order it and establish it with judgment and justice
From that time forward, even forever.
The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.

Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!
Let your gentleness be evident to all.
The Lord is near.
Do not be anxious about anything,
but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving,
 present your requests to God.
And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding,
will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:4-7

You and your family’s greatest potential
and peace will come through the transforming
work of Joseph and Mary’s son, the Son of God…

Jesus Christ as Lord

Scripture Reading

Nehemiah 4:12-15 NIV

12 Then the Jews who lived near them came and told us ten times over, "Wherever you turn, they will attack us."

13 Therefore I stationed some of the people behind the lowest points of the wall at the exposed places, posting them by families, with their swords, spears and bows. 14 After I looked things over, I stood up and said to the nobles, the officials and the rest of the people, "Don't be afraid of them. Remember the Lord, who is great and awesome, and fight for your brothers, your sons and your daughters, your wives and your homes."

15 When our enemies heard that we were aware of their plot and that God had frustrated it, we all returned to the wall, each to his own work.
