Calling Ministry Action Plan

Calling
Ministry Action Plan

One of the best ways to bring clarity to your thoughts
Is to write your thoughts down
Your future is an open map
There is a Geographical Map with North, East, South and West
There is a Personal Achievement Map with Family, Finance, Health and Pleasure
And there is a Ministry Map with Time with God, Church, Sharing and Caring
These three maps overlay each other
Because they overlay each other, they must be in harmony with each other
God told Habakkuk to write the revelation and make it plain
God told Habakkuk the revelation was for the future
You and I have a Calling from God
Have you put the desires of your heart on the three maps above?
Have you worked to make it clear?
If so, times of waiting will become times of renewing your strength
Not discouragement
Because we live by faith in God

Ministry Action Plan

One of the best ways to bring clarity to your
thoughts is to write your thoughts down.

Your future is an open map.

There is a Geographical Map with
North, East, South and West.

There is a Personal Achievement Map with
Family, Finance, Health, and Pleasure.

There is a Ministry Map with
Time with God, Church, Sharing and Caring.

These three maps overlay each other.

Because they overlay each other they
must be in harmony with each other.

God told Habakkuk to write the
revelation and make it plain.

God told Habakkuk the
revelation was for the future.

You and I have a Calling from God.

We love the verse in Jeremiah 29:11…

“For I know the plans I have for you plans
to prosper and give hope for the future.”

What if you and I were to write down
the ministry plan God has for us…

We could call it our Ministry Action Plan
(MAP for short).

Habakkuk was to write the vision down
so a herald, others could tell his story…

"Write down the revelation
and make it plain on tablets
so that a herald may run with it.
Habakkuk 2:2

If you and I were to take the three maps…

Geographical Map
Personal Achievement Map
Ministry Map

Where would we put ourselves now?

Where is our starting place?

What visions, dreams or ideas do we have
that could be put on one of these maps?

What does my action plan have to
be to get to those destinations?

Each of the three maps will
effect the other two maps.

If I sense God is calling me to support
orphans or give more to missions…

How will that effect my Personal
Achievement Map as it relates to finances?

If you feel strongly about moving
to a new geographical place how will
that effect your spouse and family?

Writing down your visions, dreams
and ideas and making them clear…

Will not only help you to
take action on your plans…

But will help your family and those
who rely on your understand.

When it comes to our vision, dreams, and
ideas it has been said to imagine what you
would do if you were not restricted…

 By finances, health, authority,
peer pressure, and age…

 What would you do?

This is a good exercise to help us see the
passion for ministry God has given us.

Delight yourself in the LORD and
He will give you the desires of your heart.
Psalm 37:4

As you delight in the Lord…

He will place desires in your heart.

You will also see the things you desire
as things God wants to fulfill
because He loves you.

So take some time and write
down the things you desire.

Put them on the three Maps of your life.

Then prayerfully make it clear by making
a Ministry Action Plan a MAP
that will bring all three maps together.

Because we are talking about the rest of our lives…

There would be times of waiting to see things unfold.

For the revelation awaits an appointed time;
it speaks of the end
and will not prove false.
Though it linger, wait for it;
it will certainly come and will not delay
Habakkuk 2:3

Don’t give up.

One of my greatest struggles to
my desires has been finances.

I do not have a retirement, so I have had
to create ways of bringing in an income.

God has done great things for me in this area but
threats and hindrances have had to be overcome.

When I was younger, I had a goal of not
needing a paycheck by the time I was 60.

I wanted to be self-sufficient, so
younger ministers could be supported.

I never liked being supported by the ministry
even though it is the right of every minister.

Little did I know my goal would be so challenging.

There was an accident that
effected the timing of my desires.

Caring for my children and grandchildren
affected the timing of my spiritual desires.

Personal struggles within, over the timing of
these desires, has also had its effects on my MAP.

But when you make your MAP clear…

You will always know how to get back
on track and have the patience to wait.

I many times felt discouragement when waiting…

Yet, as I look back I found the times of
waiting was times of renewing strength.

But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength;
they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run,
and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
Isaiah 40:31KJV

Habakkuk was warned of the issues of pride…

"See, he is puffed up;
his desires are not upright —
but the righteous will live by his faith—
Habakkuk 2:4

Your Ministry Action Plan is a plan of faith…

Living by faith every day from where you
are today to the very end of your MAP.

Faith is the constant.

Other things on your MAP may and will change…

But Faith in God, the One who is the same
Yesterday, Today and Forever
will never leave us or forsake us.

He is our Helper.

Scripture Reading

Habakkuk 2:2-4 NIV

2 Then the LORD replied:

"Write down the revelation
and make it plain on tablets
so that a herald may run with it.
3 For the revelation awaits an appointed time;
it speaks of the end
and will not prove false.
Though it linger, wait for it;
it will certainly come and will not delay.

4 "See, he is puffed up;
his desires are not upright —
but the righteous will live by his faith—
