The Lens of Love

The Lens of Love

If you cannot understand through the lens of love you cannot understand
Where do you get your understanding?
How do you come to a conclusion?
God sees everything through the lens of love
Everything God understands, everything God knows comes from the view of love
“God is love”
You and I must know and rely on the love God has for us 1 John 4:16
If you want to be confident in the decisions you make
If you want to remove the fear of making decisions
Than get the love of God in your heart
Get God’s Word in your heart

The Lens of Love

If you cannot understand through the
lens of love you cannot understand.

Where do you get your understanding?

How do you come to a conclusion?

As I was reading the
Scriptures one day, it hit me…

God sees everything through the lens of love.

Everything God understands, everything God
knows comes from the view of love.

God is Love.

Love is the base, the foundation of
His understanding and knowledge.

John tells us God is love and in the same
verses he tells us there will be a Judgment Day.

Before our minds start thinking of John’s words in
the Book of Revelation where everyone will be judged…

Think about the word John uses in 1 John 4:16-17...

God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in him.
17 In this way, love is made complete among us so that we will
have confidence on the day of judgment

“Judgment” Greek “krisis”

Simply means decision
(subjectively or objectively, for or against)

“Day of Decision”

On that day every decision we have made
will be determined to be right or wrong.

Jesus said…

But I tell you that men will have to give account on the day
of judgment for every careless word they have spoken.
Matthew 12:36

The decisions we make every day matter.

Jesus also said in Matthew 12…

For out of the overflow of the heart the mouth speaks.
The good man brings good things out of the good stored up in him,
and the evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in him.

From the bases of the heart.

What is in your heart good or evil love or hate.

The issue is the heart, that is
where we make our decisions from.

Until the final Judgment Day
we make judgments every day.

We will be judged by
“our words” and “the words of God”.

This is why David said…

“Thy word have I hid in my heart that I might not sin”

It is the words in our heart that effect the everyday
decisions we make and the words we speak.

God’s Word shapes the heart.

1 John 4:16-18…

God is love . Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in him. In this way,
love is made complete among us so that we will have confidence on the day
of judgment, because in this world we are like him. There is no fear in love.
But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment.
The one who fears is not made perfect in love.

The thing that will make us confident on
the Day of Judgment is we have made our
daily judgments on the bases of love, God’s love.

God disciplines those He loves.

God protects against evil because of love.

Because God is love He separates good and evil.

The LORD is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and rich in love.
The LORD is good to all; he has compassion on all he has made.
Psalm 145:8-9

Man does not live by bread alone but by every
word that comes from the mouth of God.

You and I will not have to fear Judgment Day
if we have the love of God in us.

That love in our hearts is founded on God’s words.

This will give us the discernment that
will shape our words and our actions.

It will also drive out fear because God’s
loving words in our heart help us to
make Godly judgments every day.

You and I must know and rely
on the love God has for us.
1 John 4:16

If you want to be confident in the decisions you make…

If you want to remove the fear of making decisions…

Than get the love of God in your heart.

Get God’s Word in your heart.

Scripture Reading

1 John 4:7-21 NIV
7 Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. 8 Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. 9 This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. 10 This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. 11 Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. 12 No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.

13 We know that we live in him and he in us, because he has given us of his Spirit. 14 And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent his Son to be the Savior of the world. 15 If anyone acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, God lives in him and he in God. 16 And so we know and rely on the love God has for us.

God is love . Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in him. 17 In this way, love is made complete among us so that we will have confidence on the day of judgment, because in this world we are like him. 18 There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.

19 We love because he first loved us. 20 If anyone says, "I love God," yet hates his brother, he is a liar. For anyone who does not love his brother, whom he has seen, cannot love God, whom he has not seen. 21 And he has given us this command: Whoever loves God must also love his brother.

Matthew 12:33-37 NIV
33 "Make a tree good and its fruit will be good, or make a tree bad and its fruit will be bad, for a tree is recognized by its fruit. 34 You brood of vipers, how can you who are evil say anything good? For out of the overflow of the heart the mouth speaks. 35 The good man brings good things out of the good stored up in him, and the evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in him. 36 But I tell you that men will have to give account on the day of judgment for every careless word they have spoken. 37 For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned."
