Desire to Be With the Lord
Jesus Desires His Church Do You
Heaven is for the Church
If you don’t desire
to be a part of the Church the regular assembly of believers now
What makes you think
you will want to be a part of the Church in Heaven?
The Called Out Ones
are the Ones working together
Each one gifted by
the Holy Spirit with gifts for the mutual edifying of one
another as we see in
1 Corinthians 12 and13
If you recognize you have been called by
Christ than
I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you
have received. Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one
another in love. Make every effort to
keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit— just
as you were called to one hope when you were called— 5 one Lord, one faith, one
baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.
Being one in Christ
is being in unity with other believers
Remember Jesus is
only coming back for one thing “His Church”
Heaven is for the
Church
Don’t stand alone
See you in Church
Jesus Desires His
Church Do You
It is our desire that determines where
we go and who we spend time with.
It is not that we can’t appreciate the
desire of others, it is just not our thing.
So what is God’s desire and what is our desire?
How close are they to the same things?
Let’s take a look at God’s desire.
The greatest commandment is…
Love the Lord your God
and love your neighbor.
The greatest command reveals
God is all about relationships.
Even though God cares for us as individuals,
He plans for us to live in community.
Remember the Good Shepherd leaves the 99
looking for one and when He finds the one
brings that sheep back into the herd of 99.
God looked for a person from the time of Adam
that would put his full faith and love in Him.
That person was Abraham, God’s
desire was not just to bless Abraham…
God wanted to establish a
family, a community, a nation.
God established a nation, Israel and
He gave them a place of worship…
From Jacob’s Rock to Moses
Tent to Solomon’s Temple.
When Jesus came to remove the
barrier between Jews and Gentiles…
He established His Church.
He said I will build
my Church and the
gates of Hades will
not overcome it.
Matthew 16:18
The word Church in the Greek
is ekkiesia from two words.
Ek meaning “from”
or “out”
(of a place or time or cause).
Kaleo meaning to
“call”.
The word Church means Called Out
Ones or Assembly of Called Out Ones.
In Ephesians 5, we read Christ loved
the Church and gave Himself up for her.
He makes the church holy by
His Word and listen to this…
and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without
stain or wrinkle or
any other blemish, but holy and blameless.
Ephesians
5:27
There is only one thing Jesus is
coming back for, it is His Church.
The endearment of Christ to the Church is
seen as God calls the Church the Bride of Christ.
We see a great banquet in heaven called the
Marriage Supper of the Lamb (the Lamb being Christ).
All this brings up a question…
Do I desire to be the Church?
Am I a member of the Church?
You might say I can worship anywhere and
that is true, but God calls us to worship as the
Church the Assembly of Called Out Ones.
Jesus said I will build
My Church.
The apostles spent their lives bringing believers
together preaching the Word of God for the
purpose of unifying God’s people and
teaching them from the cleansing Word of God.
Jesus and the apostles recognized the Church
was people who needed to be cleansed
even though they had been born again.
Just as the Jews were called out of Egypt
we too are called out if this world.
Leaving Egypt or leaving the world
did not make anyone perfect.
It just made you part of God’s family that needed
to be transformed into the image of Christ.
Heaven is for the Church.
If you don’t desire to be a part of the Church
the regular Assembly of Believers now…
What makes you think you will want
to be a part of the Church in Heaven?
The Called Out One are the Ones working

Scripture Reading
Matthew 16:18 NIV
18 And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I
will build my church,
and the gates of Hades will not overcome it.
Ephesians 5:25-33 NIV
25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the
church and gave himself up for her 26 to make her holy, cleansing her by the
washing with water through the word, 27 and to present her to himself as a
radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and
blameless. 28 In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own
bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. 29 After all, no one ever hated
his own body, but he feeds and cares for it, just as Christ does the church— 30
for we are members of his body. 31 "For this reason a man will leave his
father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one
flesh." 32 This is a profound
mystery — but I am talking about Christ and the church.
Ephesians 4:1-6 NIV
4:1 As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a
life worthy of the calling you have received. 2 Be completely humble and
gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. 3 Make every effort to
keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. 4 There is one body and
one Spirit— just as you were called to one hope when you were called— 5 one
Lord, one faith, one baptism; 6 one God and Father of all, who is over all and
through all and in all.
