Knowledge Pursuit of Knowledge

Knowledge
Pursuit of Knowledge

As you and I pursue knowledge

Remember there is a sly snake

in the Tree of Knowledge

To understand knowledge we
have to go back to the beginning.

Out of all the created things God
had made two trees stand out…

The Tree of Life and Tree of Knowledge

All around these trees were trees God had made to grow,
they were pleasant to look at and their fruit was pleasant food.

Satan convinced Eve that God had lied, He is
being unfair and keeping them from their potential.

Eve saw the fruit of the Tree of Knowledge is
good just like the fruit of the other trees.

Eve lost trust in God’s Word,
she stopped relying on His knowledge.

Satan is sly and crafty, his tacit is to get
people to question the knowledge of God.

To get us to think we don’t need God
we can come up with our own answers.

If Satan can convince us we can be as
wise as God then we will not need God.

Notice how quickly Eve became
an authority on the matter.

As soon as she saw the fruit from the
Tree of Knowledge is good (suitable, pleasant)
for food and that it was delightful to look at,
and a tree to be desired in order to make one
wise, she took of its fruit and ate; and she
gave some also to her husband, and he ate.

We should also note how quickly Adam believed Eve.

Living under the Tree of Knowledge is living in
the shade of Good and Evil, Blessing and Cursing.

In the shadow of that tree we must
discern one over the other.

Discerning the good from the evil gets harder and harder
the farther we get from the knowledge of God.

The Bible tells us…

“prophecies, … tongues, … where there is knowledge, it will pass away. For we know in part …, but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears. …Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.” 1 Corinthians 13:8-12 NIV

Since Adam and Eve decided to pursue
knowledge and wisdom apart from God.

Man has been left to pursue knowledge.

There is a day coming when we
will again see God face to face.

In that day we will eat from the Tree of Life.

The Tree of Knowledge will pass away
because then we shall “fully know”.

It may not be that we know everything but we
will totally trust in the One who knows all things.

The Garden of Eden was filled with the knowledge of God.

Adam and Eve only had to trust God.

As you and I pursue knowledge remember
there is a sly snake in the Tree of Knowledge .

Scripture Reading AMP

Genesis 2:15-17

15 And the Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to tend and guard and keep it.

16 And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, You may freely eat of every tree of the garden;

17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil and blessing and calamity you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.

Genesis 3:1-13
1 NOW THE serpent was more subtle and crafty than any living creature of the field which the Lord God had made. And he [Satan] said to the woman, Can it really be that God has said, You shall not eat from every tree of the garden?  [Rev 12:9-11.]

2 And the woman said to the serpent, We may eat the fruit from the trees of the garden,

3 Except the fruit from the tree which is in the middle of the garden. God has said, You shall not eat of it, neither shall you touch it, lest you die.

4 But the serpent said to the woman, You shall not surely die, [2 Cor 11:3.]

5 For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing the difference between good and evil and blessing and calamity.

6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good (suitable, pleasant) for food and that it was delightful to look at, and a tree to be desired in order to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate; and she gave some also to her husband, and he ate.

7 Then the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves apron like girdles.

8 And they heard the sound of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God among the trees of the garden.

9 But the Lord God called to Adam and said to him, Where are you?

10 He said, I heard the sound of You [walking] in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; and I hid myself.

11 And He said, Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten of the tree of which I commanded you that you should not eat?

12 And the man said, The woman whom You gave to be with me — she gave me [fruit] from the tree, and I ate.

13 And the Lord God said to the woman, What is this you have done? And the woman said, The serpent beguiled (cheated, outwitted, and deceived) me, and I ate.
