Teach
Us to Number Our Days
Strength
For Today
You can’t get lasting energy from a can
but you can get it from the heart!
Ever wonder why you might feel tired and worn out?
Maybe it’s because you are doing things
you have no passion for.
Remember, the last time
you stayed up past your bed time;
you were having such a good time,
you didn’t realize how late it was?
Or, what about the time you wanted to go to bed
and it was 1:00 pm in the afternoon.
What made the difference?
PASSION
Passion is what fills our tank.
When you and I are doing the thing
we are passionate about,
we may go to bed tired;
but we can’t wait till we wake up
to do it all over again.
The scriptures tell us to never be lacking in zeal.
That zeal
comes from the passion of the heart…
The desire to make a difference in some area for God.
We have a couple in the church,
they have a passion to see the church look good.
The church building is so large
that when they get done sweeping,
it is time to start all over again.
I get worn out watching them;
but to see their big smiles is inspiring,
as they feel
such great satisfaction.
It is obvious that their passion is not mine.
If I was asked to do that job,
I would burn out fast.
We have ladies who love to care
for the babies in the nursery.
I think
babies are cute and
like to make those funny faces
that only a baby could love.
But to hear a choir of crying babies makes
me want to put my head under my pillow.
Our passions are different by God’s design;
and your passion will not only show you
“WHERE”
you should be,
it will also give you “ENERGY.”
Scripture
Reading

but
keep your spiritual fervor,
serving
the Lord.

patient in affliction,
faithful in prayer.

Practice hospitality.
Psalm 20:1-5 NIV
May the LORD answer you when you are in distress;
may the name of the God of Jacob protect you.
2 May he send you help from the sanctuary
and grant you support from Zion.
3 May he remember all your sacrifices
and accept your burnt offerings. Selah
4 May he give you the desire of your heart
and make all your plans succeed.
5 We will shout for joy when you are victorious
and will lift up our banners in the name of our God.
May the LORD grant all your requests.
