Dearly Loved Children
Love is Precious
This pig may be cute,
But pigs have no value of
pearls.
Love is precious!
Love holds the greatest value
of all things in the Bible.
Jesus boiled all the law
and what the prophets said
into two things:
Love the Lord your God with all
your heart, soul, mind and strength.
and
Love your neighbor as yourself.
One thing focused in two areas
fulfills everything written
in the Old and New Testaments.
That one thing is Love!
Love is the most valuable,
most treasures commodity
you and I can possess.
When we spend it on God and others,
we fulfill every requirement
God’s Word gives us.
God finds value in your love
as it is expressed
from every part of your being.
Notice love starts from the heart,
become a part of our soul and thoughts,
and is worked out in our bodies with strength.
than any currency
on the world markets.
And it can buy things Master Card can’t.
Unfortunately, the currency of love
is not accepted everywhere.
There are some who will reject your love.
Jesus tells us
not to cast our pearls before the swine.
Jesus told the disciples
to shake off the dust from
the cities that did not accept them.
Don’t let the rejection of your love
keep you from loving.
If you have been rejected,
the right thing to do may be to move on.
Just because pigs
can’t appreciate pearls
doesn’t mean there isn’t
a world out there that loves pearls.
Love is like currency…
When you spend it,
you expect to get something
for your investment.
When you are not getting a return,
you have to determine one of two things:
· I need to spend more because the reward is worth more.
or
· I need to find another place to spend my love.
Love that is not spent - is worthless.
Don’t hide it…
Spend it…
Circulate God’s love…
and
Keep the kingdom economy moving.
Scripture Reading
Ephesians 5:1-2 NIV
Be imitators of God,
therefore,
as dearly loved
children
2 and live a life of
love,
just as Christ loved us
and gave himself up
for us
as a fragrant
offering
and sacrifice to God.
Matthew 7:6 NIV
6 "Do not give
dogs what is sacred;
do not throw your
pearls to pigs.
If you do,
they may trample them
under their feet,
and then turn and
tear you to pieces.
