Dearly Beloved Children Be Very Careful II

Dearly Beloved Children
Be Very Careful II

If you are going

to “be careful…”

You must sing

and

harmonize with others.

It’s not that I don’t like the word careful
because I want to be reckless
or live a haphazard life.

I don’t like the word careful
because it causes me anxiety.

Have you ever noticed
that many things you love in life
come with a “be careful.”

The Bible says…
Don’t eat too much honey
or it will make you vomit.

Caution tape and danger signs
are all around us
including the good things of life.

Wouldn’t it be nice if the words
 “be careful” never existed?

But they do!
And we will enjoy life more
if we are careful.

Each day has
its quota of evil.

In fact, Jesus said,
Don’t even think about
tomorrow’s troubles
because you and I have enough
to handle each day.

Now we need to make sure
the cautions of life
don’t get us down.

In the midst
of all the trouble,
are opportunities
for the wise.

There are times when
we all feel like giving up.

You may even be tempted
to grab a bottle
to help you
forget your problems.

All of us know of someone
who has taken this route
and seen their troubles increase.

This is why God tells
His beloved children
how to live
above the stresses
and anxiety of life.

So here is His advice:
Sing songs…

I have enjoyed opening my Bible
to the psalms and singing them
to a familiar tune.

After all, many of the Psalms
were the songs of David.

Sing a Hymn or a Chorus…

Paul the Apostle said,
He would sing with his mind
and sing with his spirit.

Spiritual songs are more than words
with biblical meaning.

They are songs that come
from your spirit,
expressing your spiritual thoughts
in song to the Lord.

The point is have
a song of hope in your heart
and share it with others.

Yes, we all love to eat,
but there is a lot more
to thank God for
than just good food.

So look around at all
our Father in heaven
has given us.

There are more opportunities
than you can use;
so don’t let the worries
of “be careful” get you down.

Scripture Reading

Ephesians 5:15-20 NIV
15 Be very careful, then, how you live
— not as unwise but as wise,
16 making the most of every opportunity,
because the days are evil.
17 Therefore do not be foolish,
but understand what the Lord's will is.
18 Do not get drunk on wine,
which leads to debauchery.
Instead, be filled with the Spirit.
19 Speak to one another with psalms,
hymns and spiritual songs.
Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord,
20 always giving thanks to God
the Father for everything,
in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

John 16:33 NIV
33 "I have told you these things,
so that in me you may have peace.
In this world you will have trouble.
But take heart!
I have overcome the world."

Matthew 6:34 NIV
34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow,
for tomorrow will worry about itself.
Each day has enough trouble of its own.

1 Corinthians 14:15-16 NIV
15 So what shall I do?
I will pray with my spirit,
but I will also pray with my mind;
I will sing with my spirit,
but I will also sing with my mind.
