Dearly Beloved Children
Not a Hint
In order to have purity,
there is something
God does not want you
to have a hint of…
The other day a young man said
he wanted to
live “the free life.”
The words “free
life”
caught my attention.
What he meant by the
free life,
was he wanted to be free to drink, do drugs,
and have sex
with any girl that would consent.
When I heard the term,
it almost sounded as if this was
a newly discovered lifestyle.
If you lived in the 60’s,
you would know “the
free life”
was not new to this generation.
In the 60’s,
we called it “free
love.”
As dearly
beloved children,
our Heavenly Father
is “old fashion.”
He doesn’t say sex is ok
between consenting adults!
He doesn’t say it‘s ok
if you use a condom!
In fact, He says
or kid about sex.
We live in a world where sex sells
and it is hard to find
a place where there isn’t
a hint of sexual immorality.
Our Father is very clear;
He becomes angry at even
a hint of sexual immorality.
He doesn’t tolerate it
and it can keep us
from our inheritance.
But let’s be clear…
God created sex,
and the union between
a husband and wife,
is holy.
That holy union is to be
a frequent part of marriage.
It doesn’t take much of the light of God
to see how “the
free life”
or “free love”
has caused pain and suffering.
Our Father wants His
dearly loved children to be free.
But in order to be truly free,
there must not be a hint
of sexual immorality among us.
So let’s keep the marriage bed undefiled
from jokes and impure thoughts.
Scriptures Reading
Ephesians 5:1-7 NIV
5:1 Be imitators of
God, therefore,
as dearly loved children 2 and live a life
of love,
just as Christ loved
us and gave himself up for us
as a fragrant
offering and sacrifice to God.
3 But among you there
must not be even a hint of sexual immorality,
or of any kind of
impurity, or of greed,
because these are
improper for God's holy people.
4 Nor should there be
obscenity, foolish talk or coarse joking,
which are out of
place, but rather thanksgiving.
5 For of this you can
be sure:
No immoral, impure or
greedy person
— such a man is an
idolater
— has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ
and of God.
6 Let no one deceive you with empty words,
for because of such
things God's wrath comes on those who are disobedient.
7 Therefore do not be
partners with them.
1 Corinthians 7:1-6 NIV
7:1 Now for the
matters you wrote about:
It is good for a man
not to marry.
2 But since there is
so much immorality,
each man should have
his own wife, and each woman her own husband.
3 The husband should
fulfill his marital duty to his wife,
and likewise the wife
to her husband.
4 The wife's body
does not belong to her alone but also to her husband.
In the same way, the
husband's body does not belong to him alone but also to his wife.
5 Do not deprive each
other except by mutual consent and for a time,
so that you may
devote yourselves to prayer.
Then come together
again so that Satan will not tempt you
because of your lack
of self-control.
Hebrews 13:4 NIV
4 Marriage should be
honored by all,
and the marriage bed
kept pure,
for God will judge
the adulterer and all the sexually immoral.
Galatians 5:13-14 NIV
13 You, my brothers,
were called to be free.
But do not use your
freedom to indulge the sinful nature;
rather, serve one another in love.
