The Path You Are On is Not Going to End Well
The Crown of Gray Hair
If you have gray hair (even if you color it) it is a crown of beauty and glory
If your experiences have found the right way of doing life
The way of righteousness ends well, the way of the fool ends in destruction
If you have lived past your youth, you are blessed
What has God revealed to you along the way?
What experiences can you share with young people
That will help them realize God’s presence in their lives?
You have been there, done that, and now have the T-shirt
So, help the youth who are in the battle
Who have not seen victory or forgiveness like you
The Crown of Gray Hair
The 1960’s and 70’s was a time for hair.
The hippy movement was proud of their hair.
Like Samson’s long hair was a sign of strength…
These young people rebelled against war.
The government drafted the youth
to fight, kill and be killed.
The draft ended the year I was to be drafted…
But many youth never lived to see
their hair grow gray.
Over the years, there has been a shift
from long hair to being bald.
We no longer draft our youth to fight wars.
But our streets are filled with wars
and many youths are dying before
their hair grows gray.
Proverbs 20:29-30 says…
29 The glory of young men is their strength,
gray hair the splendor of the old.
30 Blows and wounds cleanse away evil,
and beatings purge the inmost being.
“The glory of young men is their strength”
My dad used to tell me…
“When you are young you can work harder
but when you are older you must work smarter.”
Proverbs 20:30 tells us…
Life as a youth is tough.
There are…
“Blows, and Wounds and Beatings”
They say…
“What don’t kill you, will make you stronger.”
Being a young man means you will face many battles.
Life will have struggles.
Youth make mistakes.
And when you are young you are
strong enough to do things over.
But as you get gray hair…
You will need to do things right the first time
because time and energy are against you.
The “Blows, and Wounds and Beatings”
can make us go gray…
But they are intended to make us wise.
The experiences of those
with gray hair are very valuable.
Valuable to the person with gray hair and to others.
I believe that God’s greatest resource
in the earth is the seniors…
The ones with gray hair.
Why?
Because whether you are a believer or not…
God has been working in your life.
The experiences of a senior
reveal powerful lessons.
Whether you realize it or not…
God was there at the time of your lesson.
The wars our governments send our youth out to…
Or, the fights they battles in our street
are not the biggest battles we fight.
The biggest battles we will fight
is the battle for our souls.
Our biggest enemy is the devil
according to John 10:10,
which says…
The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy.
But our biggest help is Jesus,
who says…
I have come that they may have life,
and have it to the full.
Proverbs 16:31 AMP says…
The hoary (gray) head is a crown of beauty and glory
if it is found in the way of righteousness
(moral and spiritual rectitude in every area and relation).
If you have gray hair (even if you color it)
it is a crown of beauty and glory.
If your experiences have found
the right way of doing life…
The way of righteousness ends well…
The way of the fool ends in destruction.
If you have lived past your youth,
you are blessed.
What has God revealed to you along the way?
What experiences can you share
with young people that will help them
realize God’s presence in their lives?
You have been there, done that,
and now have the T-shirt.
So, help the youth who are in the battle…
Who have not seen victory
or forgiveness like you.
