The Bride of Christ Wedding Invitations

The Bride of Christ

Wedding Invitations

Description: Matthew 22 - The Invitation

When a woman filled with love for a man is asked by that man to become his bride

She is filled with excitement

Her whole world is about to change

She dreams of a new home, a new world, a new family

She is so excited and can’t wait to tell everyone about her lover

And the plans they share

How about you?

Are you excited about The Marriage?

Are you excited about the new life with Christ?

Are you excited about a new family living in a New Earth and New Heaven?

Are you consumed with the joy of being The Bride?

Does everyone around you know you are a Bride?

Are you inviting everyone?

Do you feel the urgency because the Bridegroom is coming soon?

The Bride of Christ

Wedding Invitations

The German Bridal Chorus from 1850

has been played for the bride’s entrance

at many formal weddings.

In English-speaking countries,

it is generally known as…

 “Here Comes the Bride”

or the

“Wedding March”

The original lyrics spoke of…

Faithfully guarded, remain behind
where the blessing of love shall preserve you!...

Then came the Alternative Wedding lyrics…

Here comes the bride dressed all in light
Radiant and lovely she shines in his sight
Gently she glides graceful as a dove
Meeting her bridegroom her eyes full of love…

Then came the Parody versions…

Here comes the bride
all fat and wide
See how she wobbles
from side to side
Here comes the groom
thin as a broom
And here comes the usher,
the old toilet flusher!

And many other versions that were not honoring

the bride and groom.

At the end of the Bible,

 God writes His version of…

 Here Comes the Bride.

We see a Bride beautifully dressed for her Husband.

She is coming down out of heaven from God.

Revelation 21:2…

I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem,

coming down out of heaven from God,

prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband.

God’s version says the Bride is

a Holy City, the New Jerusalem.

The Bride will be made up of both

believing Jews and Gentiles…

Saints of the Old and New Covenant.

There will be a New Heaven and a New Earth

and the Bride with her Groom will come down out of heaven

and fill the New Earth and New Heaven like a City.

Revelations 19:6 tells us…

There will be an invitation sent out

to this Wedding Event and Feast.

Revelation 19:6-9…

Then I heard what sounded like a great multitude,

like the roar of rushing waters

and like loud peals of thunder, shouting:

"Hallelujah!

For our Lord God Almighty reigns.

7 Let us rejoice and be glad

and give him glory!

For the wedding of the Lamb has come,

and his bride has made herself ready.

8 Fine linen, bright and clean,

was given her to wear."

(Fine linen stands for the righteous acts of the saints.)

9 Then the angel said to me,

"Write: 'Blessed are those who are invited to the wedding supper of the Lamb!'" And he added, "These are the true words of God."

Verse 9 says…

'Blessed are those who are invited

to the wedding supper of the Lamb!'"

Where is the invitation coming from?

Revelation 22:17…

The Spirit and the bride say,

"Come!" And let him who hears say, "Come!"

Whoever is thirsty, let him come;

and whoever wishes,

let him take the free gift of the water of life.

The Invitation comes from…

The Spirit of God.

The Bride

And Hearers

Who is the invitation going to…

The Thirsty

and

Whoever wishes

The Water of Life which is…

The Word of God has been made free.

Revelation 22:20 says…

He who testifies to these things says,

"Yes, I am coming soon."

You and I who are in love with Jesus…

We, who are looking for His soon return…

Are testifying and inviting those who

are thirsty for more than this life.

To those who wish there was

something more than this life…

Why?

Because like a bride, we are in love.

We know our Groom is preparing a place for us.

We are excited about being brought

into the Family of God.

A large family, like a city without the corruption.

A Holy City, a Holy People.

The promise of the Bridegroom,

God’s Word fills us.

When a woman filled with love for a man

is asked by that man to become his bride

she is filled with excitement.

Her whole world is about to change.

She dreams of a new home,

a new world, a new family.

She is so excited she can’t wait to tell everyone

about her lover and the plans they share.

How about you?

Are you excited about The Marriage?

Are you excited about the new life with Christ?

Are you excited about a new family

living in a New Earth and New Heaven?

Are you consumed with the joy of being The Bride?

Does everyone around you know you are a Bride?

Are you inviting everyone?

Do you feel the urgency because…

 The Bridegroom is coming soon?

There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away."
