Fight for Your Family The Invisible Wall

Fight for Your Family
The Invisible Wall

The battle ground is between two ears
To fight for your family means you need to get past the ears
To the will and emotions, the mind and the heart
Although justice will get someone’s attention
Love is what penetrates with the greatest results
But true love is not demonstrated with candy and gifts
Love is demonstrated with
Truth, Righteousness, Peace, Faith, Salvation
These are the stones of the invisible wall held together
By love that protect our families
In the end our love must lead to
“The peace of God, which transcends all understanding,
will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:5-7

The Invisible Wall

When children are born we put
them in cribs that look like a cage.

We make physical barriers to protect them.

In Florida and many other places,
homes with swimming pools put locks
high on doors so children cannot reach them.

It does not take long and children grow
physically and the physical barriers and
walls are no longer effective to protect the child.

Invisible barriers and walls need to be installed
in order to keep our loved ones safe.

Our fight for our families is challenging.

It is important we understand how to fight.

Physical forces have their place and value.

Although we do not see Jesus using a
physical sword and he rebuke Peter for cutting
off the ear of the servant of the high priest…

Jesus in Luke 22:36 tells His disciples
if they don’t have a sword to buy one.

Physical walls and protection are
sometimes important and necessary.

If you are raising your family in Alaska and you
want to take your family into the wilderness to go
fishing, you will be wise to carry a gun for protection.

Proverbs 13:24 tells us the lack of using a rod
of correction is a display of a lack of love.

And also says love is careful in its use of discipline.

Foolishness is a great danger.

Proverbs 22:15 says foolishness
is bound up in the heart of a child.

Foolishness is not logical.

Foolishness is not reasonable.

Therefore talking get nowhere
with the foolish heart or thinking.

Foolishness requires physical
pain to get ones attention…

So the foolish one will think about their actions.

Consequences are not always far from foolishness.

If a person jumps in my rowboat in my
pond and does not think to take the oars…

They may sit in the middle of the pond for a
long time for the wind or someone to rescue them.

But if they jump in a rowboat and launch
out into the ocean without thinking to take oars
or maybe a motor with lots of gas, they could die.

There is a thing called justice and it will be served.

In building walls of protection around our
family there will sometimes be physical
consequences for going beyond the wall.

Like a hedge of thorns keeps predators out…

It is also painful to pass through
the hedge where predators live.

There is a reality of physical walls
in our fight for our families.

But we need to remember all physical walls
are a problem caused in the invisible.

Ephesians 6 tells us the real fight
is not against flesh and blood…

It is a fight against darkness and spiritual forces.

We are told God gives us an armor
to protect us when evil comes…

Note the armor is for Truth, Righteousness,
Peace, Faith, Salvation.

These are all things that play
out in the mind of a person.

In this text there is one weapon mentioned…

The Sword of the Spirit.

So obviously this is not a sword of steel.

The greatest verse here is verse 18…

And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests.
With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.
Ephesians 6:18

What does prayer do?

It opens our mind and heart, our will and emotions,
to understanding as we converse with God.

2 Corinthians 10 draws our
attention to weapons and the fight…

The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world.
On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds.
We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself
up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive
every thought to make it obedient to Christ.
And we will be ready to punish every act of disobedience,
 once your obedience is complete.
2 Corinthians 10:4-6

There are times when the physical rod is needed,
but the end goal is not to stop the physical behavior
but to establish the knowledge of God.

More than knowing God exists…

But to know what God knows.

This goes back to Ephesians 6…

To know Truth, Righteousness, Peace, Faith, Salvation.

The devil is the father of all lies and he
is good at getting us to believe a lie.

Only the truth will set you free.

There are scriptures about justice and consequences
and we all could give personal examples.

We know we need cribs that look like cages.

We need a rod to inflict pain to get
the attention of the mind and heart.

We also need to know…

For God did not send his Son into the world to
condemn the world, but to save the world through him.
John 3:17

All the walls we have to build to protect our family…

All the fighting we do to protect our family…

Is never done to condemn.

Sadly, we too often condemn ourselves…

 Make wrong decisions because
we believe the wrong thing.

Our fight is to help our family
to believe in the Words of God.

Note…

God’s grace and mercy is great in all our lives.

So just because we seem to get away
with wrong does not make it right.

Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?
Romans 2:4 KJV

The battle ground is between two ears.

To fight for your family means you need to get past the
ears to the will and emotions, the mind and the heart.

Although justice will get someone’s attention…

Love is what penetrates with the greatest results.

But true love is not demonstrated with candy and gifts.

Love is demonstrated with…

Truth, Righteousness, Peace, Faith, Salvation.

These are the stones of the invisible wall
held together by love that protect our families.

In the end our love must lead to…

“The peace of God, which transcends all understanding,
will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
Philippians 4:5-7

Scripture Reading

Nehemiah 4:14-15 KJV

14 And I looked, and rose up, and said unto the nobles, and to the rulers, and to the rest of the people, Be not ye afraid of them: remember the Lord, which is great and terrible, and fight for your brethren, your sons, and your daughters, your wives, and your houses.

15 And it came to pass, when our enemies heard that it was known unto us, and God had brought their counsel to nought, that we returned all of us to the wall, every one unto his work.
