Romans 16

Proclamation of Jesus

Description: Main preaching of Jesus Christ (part-1) | Print Version

It is our privilege and responsibility to be Jesus Christ’s Press Secretary

To be Jesus Christ’s Kerux

To proclaim, to preach, to communicate, to announce with a clear and unquestionable voice the desires, dictates, orders, recent events, news, or message that the King and His government wished to express to the people

Jesus taught us to pray

"'Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name,

your kingdom come, your will be done

on earth as it is in heaven. Matthew 6:9-10

The answer to this prayer is you and I

His Kingdom will be established in the lives of people if

We are to proclaim

Jesus Christ and His message

Proclamation of Jesus

Have you ever considered the job of

being the President’s spokesperson?

Imagine your job as White House Press Secretary.

What an honor to have the right

to meet with the President.

To write down the message

of the nation’s leader and ask questions.

What a responsibility to be the news

of the President to the press.

All the cameras are on you.

 The questions are asked…

You must clearly and accurately, with the

thoughts and heart of the nation’s leader, speak.

This job of speaking on behalf of the nation’s leader

is not new to the United States.

In Jesus’ time…

They were called, in the Greek Kerux.

It was the message proclaimed by the kerux,

who was the official spokesman or herald of a king.

Because the kerux was the appointed,

official representative of the king or government

His specific job was to announce with a clear

and unquestionable voice the desires, dictates, orders,

recent events, news, policy changes, or message

that the king or government wished to express to the people.

Paul’s first of seven points

in Romans 16:25-27 is…

1. Now to him who is able to establish you by my gospel

Paul’s second point is…

2. and the proclamation of Jesus Christ

We are established by the Gospel

and the proclamation or preaching.

In Jesus’ closing to His earthly ministry,

before returning to Heaven and

sitting on the throne at the right hand of God, said…

"All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.

Therefore go and make disciples of all nations,

baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,

and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.

And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."

Matthew 28:18-20

Mark’s Gospel says…

"Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation.

16 Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved,

but whoever does not believe will be condemned.

Mark 16:15-17

The proclaiming of the Jesus Christ

and the Good News is essential…

How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can they preach unless they are sent? As it is written, "How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!"

Romans 10:14-15

You and I are the spokesperson of Jesus Christ.

We, who have believed, have been given…

Access into the Holy of Holies,

the throne room of God

We have been given the Scriptures

which are the breath of God.

We have the Holy Spirit to reveal

 the mysteries of the Scriptures…

We do, however, speak a message of wisdom among the mature, but not the wisdom of this age or of the rulers of this age, who are coming to nothing. No, we speak of God's secret wisdom, a wisdom that has been hidden and that God destined for our glory before time began. None of the rulers of this age understood it, for if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. However, as it is written:

"No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived

what God has prepared for those who love him"—

but God has revealed it to us by his Spirit.

1 Corinthians 2:6-10

It is our privilege and responsibility

to be Jesus Christ’s Press Secretary.

To be Jesus Christ’s Kerux…

To proclaim, to preach, to communicate,

to announce with a clear and unquestionable voice

the desires, dictates, orders, recent events, news,

or message that the King and His government

wished to express to the people.

Jesus taught us to pray…

"'Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name,

your kingdom come, your will be done

on earth as it is in heaven.

Matthew 6:9-10

The answer to this prayer is you and I.

His Kingdom will be established

in the lives of people if…

We are to proclaim

Jesus Christ and His message.

Scripture Reading

Romans 16:25-27 NIV

25 Now to him who is able to establish you by my gospel and the proclamation of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery hidden for long ages past, 26 but now revealed and made known through the prophetic writings by the command of the eternal God, so that all nations might believe and obey him— 27 to the only wise God be glory forever through Jesus Christ! Amen.
