Romans 16
Impact Words Get Their Impact From God
There are many carrying out the Gospel
In different ways than you, by God’s design
Don’ t feel intimidated, nor superior
Never lose sight of your call as a servant of Jesus Christ
Remember it is conviction that changes a life
Don’t force conviction on others
Remember this is the Holy Spirit’s job to convict the world John 16:8
And so, it shall be, whether in your eyes great or small,
It is God who establishes the lives of those who hear your gospel
When our gospel lines up with Christ
Than we can expect the Great Commission to be fulfilled
"Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well." Mark 16:15-18

Impact Words Get Their Impact From God
Impact Statements…
We make them all the time.
But how often do we take the time
to think about those statements?
What is an Impact Statement?
They are brief, concise, and readable.
They are written to give the reader
a vision with familiar words.
They describe the reason or purpose.
Paul closes the letter to the Romans with
Seven (depending on how you count) Impact statements.
They are the seal to everything else he has written…
1. Now to him who is able to establish you by my gospel
2. and the proclamation of Jesus Christ,
3. according to the revelation of the mystery hidden for long ages past,
4. but now revealed and made known through the prophetic writings
5. by the command of the eternal God,
6. so that all nations might believe and obey him—
7. to the only wise God be glory forever through Jesus Christ! Amen.
The first one is…
Now to him who is able to establish you by my gospel.
It might seem strange that
Paul would say “my gospel”.
Paul says this in two other places…
Romans 2:16 and 2 Timothy 2:8.
Paul took ownership of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Even though Paul’s gospel was different
than Peter, James and John…
They all took ownership of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Paul is not saying he had a different
gospel then that of Jesus Christ…
Paul was taking ownership of Christ’s Gospel.
Paul’s gospel was to the Gentiles
where we see Peter, James and John took
the Gospel primarily among the Jews.
I have enjoyed the different ways the Gospel
has been shared as different ministers
share from personal passion.
Looking at the Five-fold ministry of
apostles, prophets, evangelist, pastors and teachers…
Ephesians 4:11
Each one of them brings a different passion
to the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Paul is not saying His gospel is
to be the new version of the Bible.
Paul’s gospel pointed to Christ just
like that of Peter, James and John.
It is important to see Paul says…
“it is God who establishes us
or the ones we share with”
As you and I take ownership
of the Gospel of Jesus Christ
we need to realize…
Our message is important and
should line up with that of Jesus.
Our message is important as…
Faith comes by hearing the Word of God.
But it is God who establishes the people
we share His Word with.
Those people…
Who have heard the message from us,
people we have become friends with
and partners in the faith
are still God’s established people.
Many times God will have plans for
those we shared our gospel with.
Plans that take them in different directions.
Just reading Romans 16 we see…
Those Paul’s gospel had touched became
fellow workers in different places.
Timothy, Paul’s son in the faith,
became a pastor, wrath than,
a traveling apostle like Paul.
You and I need to take ownership
of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
As you and I take ownership, remember…
Our understand of the Gospel of Christ
is not of some private interpretation.
Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet's own interpretation. For prophecy never had its origin in the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.
2 Peter 1:20-21
There are many carrying out the Gospel,
in different ways than you,
by God’s design.
Don’ t feel intimidated, nor superior.
Never lose sight of your call
as a servant of Jesus Christ.
Remember it is conviction that changes a life
Don’t force conviction on others.
Remember this is the Holy Spirit’s job
to convict the world.
John 16:8
And so, it shall be…
Whether in your eyes great or small,
it is God who establishes the lives
of those who hear your gospel.
When our gospel lines up with Christ…
Than we can expect the Great Commission
to be fulfilled…
"Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well."
