Romans 16 Good and Evil

Romans 16

Good and Evil

Description: What Does Romans 16:19 Mean?

Wisdom builds on a strong foundation, a foundation and building that does not have to fear evil, does not seek evil or revenge. Matthew 7:24-27

Those who are innocent about evil are not unaware

Just not participating in it

The goodness of God far outweighs the lust of this world

The good things of God are not for the taking, but for the giving

Be wise with all the resources God has given you, especially your breath,

The time He has given you

Keep your time and resources innocent,

Untouched from the knowledge of evil

Satan, introduced the knowledge of lust and evil

Within the fruit of the Tree of Knowledge

Our knowledge of good and being wise with it will reveal our obedience to God

The power needed for God to put Satan under our feet

Jesus put Satan under His feet as He was obedient to the Father

Our obedience will give the God of Peace power to put Satan under our feet

Good and Evil

Romans 16:19-20 takes us

back to the Garden of Eden.

There is a contrast between

the believers in Rome and Adam and Eve.

Adam and Eve were disobedient…

 But the Roman believers had

a testimony of obedience to God.

Paul’s expression of joy over their obedience…

Reflects the heart of God over

the obedience of the believer.

This is not the end…

The journey of the believer continues.

The Tree of the Knowledge of good and evil

is still apart of our daily lives.

So, Paul says…

I want you to be wise about what is good,

and innocent about what is evil.

Romans 16:19

Wise about Good.

When God had finished the Garden of Eden…

He looked around at all His creation.

God saw that the light was good.

 Genesis 1:4

God saw that the dry ground

and the waters were good.

Genesis 1:10

God saw the vegetation,

fruit and vegetables were good.

Genesis 1:12

God saw the sun and the stars and

their order of day and night were good.

Genesis 1:18

God saw the fish and birds of the air,

great and amazing were good.

Genesis 1:21

God saw the animals that roamed

the land were good.

Genesis 1:25

God saw all of His creation as provision for man

to be sustained and enjoyed were good.

Genesis 1:31

God saw the trees were pleasing

to the eye and good for food.

Genesis 2:9

God saw that the land and

the waters were full of gold,

and other metals and minerals,

provision to last and sustain mankind.

Genesis 2:12

The only thing God saw that was not good was…

The emptiness of having all these wonderful things

and no one to share them with.

And God fixed that when He created Eve.

Genesis 2:18

All this goodness is still here today…

 It is all around us.

The beauty, the food,

the day and the night.

The cell phone, the microwave,

the internet all were undiscovered

resources in the Garden of Eden.

The future advances we only dream of…

God has already given us at the time of creation.

As gold miner, Jack Hoffman said…

 “You are all millionaires

all you have to do is get it out of the ground.”

God has filled the earth with goodness.

He has already given us everything

we need for life and godliness.

But we have to be wise with His provisions.

The type of wisdom that understands…

The earth is the Lord’s and the fullness there of.

So, we are stewards of these provisions.

We are to multiply and be fruitful

with the provisions and talents

He has given us.

Wisdom will multiply some 30, 60, 100 times.

 Matthew 13

Wisdom gives us the ability

to give back to the Lord.

 Matthew 25:14-30

Wisdom sees beyond good

and sees where the good comes from.

Romans 1

When wisdom sees the goodness of God’s provisions…

The mind dreams and the heart longs for God.

Prayer and worship become as much of life

as the effort to attain the treasures God has created.

If you are wise about good, you will be…

Innocent about what is evil.

 Romans 16:19

Jesus said in John 16:33…

"I have told you these things,

so that in Me you may have peace.

In this world you will have trouble.

  But take heart!

I have overcome the world."

The scriptures also says in Isaiah 26:3…

He will keep in perfect peace

him whose mind is steadfast,

because he trusts in you.

Wisdom builds on a strong foundation…

A foundation and building that

does not have to fear evil,

does not seek evil or revenge.

Matthew 7:24-27

Those who are innocent

about evil are not unaware…

Just not participating in it.

The goodness of God far outweighs

the lust of this world.

The good things of God are not

for the taking…

 But for the giving.

Be wise with all the resources God has given you…

 Especially your breath,

the time He has given you.

Keep your time and resources innocent…

Untouched from the knowledge of evil.

Satan introduced the knowledge of lust and evil

within the fruit of the Tree of Knowledge.

Our knowledge of good and being wise with it

will reveal our obedience to God…

The power needed for God

to put Satan under our feet.

Jesus put Satan under His feet

as He was obedient to the Father.

Our obedience will give the God of Peace power

to put Satan under our feet.

Scripture Reading
