Life is all About the Father
Do you know the two most important words of Jesus’ Sermon
Jesus’ message is from sunrise to sunrise
Our life focus is on “Our
Father in Heaven”
Life is all about seeing yourself as a child of Our Father
in Heaven
If you have grown up in the church,
you have heard about
the Sermon on the Mount.
The Sermon is about the…
“Beatitudes”
“Anger and Revenge”
“Marriage”
“The Lord’s Prayer”
“Money”
“Worry
“Trusting in God”
Powerful life impacting lessons are found in this message
Jesus spoke to the multitude and now us, as well.
This morning I realized the most
important thing about Christ’ sermon.
It is so obvious and common throughout these
verses we easily miss the key point of Jesus’ message.
Everything Jesus talks about in
the sermon is connected to one thing.
As important as the six topics are to a
successful life there is a more important message.
The point Jesus makes is tied to “Our Father”.
Missing the message of “Our
Father” misses everything.
Jesus starts out the message with…
“Let your light shine
before men, that they may see
your good deeds and
praise your Father in heaven.” Matt 5:16
Why do we love our enemies?
“that you may be sons
of your Father in heaven.” Matt 5:45
As children we are to
“Be perfect,
therefore, as your heavenly Father
is perfect.” Matt 5:48
Concerning our righteousness
“You will have no reward from your Father in heaven.” Matt 6:1
“Then your Father, who sees what is
done in secret, will
reward you.” Matt 6:4
“close the door and
pray to your Father,” Matt 6:6
“our Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.” Matt 6:6
“our Father knows what you need before you ask him.” Matt 6:8
“how you should pray: Our Father
in heaven,” Matt 6:9
“forgive men when they
sin against you,
your heavenly Father will
also forgive you.” Matt
6:14-15
“do not forgive men
their sins, your Father will not
forgive your sins.” Matt
6:15
“not be obvious to men
that you are fasting,
but only to your Father, who is unseen” Matt 6:18
“your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.” Matt 6:18
“Look at the birds of
the air; they do not sow or reap or store away
in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them.” Matt 6:26
“'What shall we eat?'
or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?'
… your
heavenly Father knows that you need them.” Matt 6:31-33
“How much more will your Father in heaven give
good gifts to those
who ask him!” Matt 7:11-12
"Not everyone who
says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven,
but only he who does
the will of my Father who is in heaven.”
Matt 7:21
Jesus’ message is from sunrise to sunrise;
our life focus is on “Our
Father in Heaven”.
Life is all about
seeing yourself as
a child of Our Father in Heaven.
