The Blessing
Jesus was blessed when the people went into
the street and shouted "Hosanna!"
“Blessed is he who
comes in the name of the Lord!"
"Blessed is the
coming kingdom of our father David!"
"Hosanna in the
highest!"
Are you lifting your voice blessing God?
Every year we Christians celebrate Palm Sunday.
Special services are held in churches everywhere.
That day reminds us of the path made of palm branches and
coats.
The crowds alongside the road watched as Jesus rode upon a donkey.
It is recorded the crowd was saying,
"Hosanna!"
"Blessed is he
who comes in the name of the Lord!"
"Blessed is the
coming kingdom of our father David!"
"Hosanna in the
highest!"
Have you ever thought about what the crowd is shouting?
“BLESSED”
The word Blessed
means “to speak well of”
Maybe the closest parallel today would be a parade where
a celebrity, sports star, dignitary passes through a crowd.
There are shouts of supports, words like Yeah
and Woo as they
cheer and whistle.
People are expressing their love.
There is a word here that goes
along with blessed it is “Hosanna”.
The word “Hosanna”
means “exclamation of adoration”.
There are many ways to speak well of someone or to adore
them.
On Palm Sunday the crowds wanted
everyone to know how much they loved Jesus.
The crowd got excited.
They wanted everyone to know how wonderful He was.
Jesus was blessed because the people openly,
in the streets spoke of their support
and love and adoration of Him
Are we blessing God?
How loud are you proclaiming His goodness?
How loud are you and I proclaiming His ability
to help us and save us in every situation of life?
Let’s fill the streets, the churches, the auditoriums with
shouts.
Let’s speak in a loud voice how great is our God!
It is time for the applause and cheers of
Christ to become greater than any other.
Where do we hear the greatest blessing?
It should be from us who have seen the goodness of God.
The sound of the crowds may not be fully
understood but one thing is for sure…
People understand the crowd loves the
One they are cheering for.
May our praise of Him reach every ear so all will know
HOW GREAT IS OUR GOD!!!

Scripture Reading
Mark 11:4-10 NIV
4 They went and found a colt outside in the street, tied at
a doorway. As they untied it, 5 some people standing there asked, "What
are you doing, untying that colt?" 6 They answered as Jesus had told them
to, and the people let them go. 7 When they brought the colt to Jesus and threw
their cloaks over it, he sat on it. 8 Many people spread their cloaks on the
road, while others spread branches they had cut in the fields. 9 Those who went
ahead and those who followed shouted,
"Hosanna!"
"Blessed is he who comes in the name of the
Lord!"
10 "Blessed is the coming kingdom of our father
David!"
"Hosanna in the highest!"
