The Blessing Blessed Eyes

The Blessing

Blessed Eyes

The human eye is an amazing thing.

The sight the eye gives reveals good and evil.

The human eye can be able to see
great detail, or blind and see nothing.

Glasses can make a big difference to
the eyes that are near or far sighted.

There are times when it is not a blessing to see;
like the images of suffering, greed, and
things that allure us to trouble.

There are also times when our
eyes don’t see what we need to see.

Jesus said to seventy two of His disciples,

"Blessed are the eyes that see what you see.”

What are the blessed eyes?

These seventy two were told to look
at the world as a harvest field.

They saw sickness suffering and pain.

But more than that, they
saw the power to overcome it.

The blessed eyes are the ones that
see they can make a difference.

But Jesus wants us to see beyond making a difference.

He says,

“But rejoice that your names are written in heaven."

Jesus’ message over and over again is on Heaven.

Our vision of earth, without a vision
of eternity in heaven, lacks the blessing.

Jesus gives a pray of thanks giving for
blessing the eyes of the seventy two.

He says,
"I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth,
because you have hidden these things from the wise
and learned, and revealed them to little children.
Yes, Father, for this was your good pleasure.”

Yes, it is the Father’s good pleasure to bless your eyes.

To help you see.

Our sight must recognize our Father
is “Lord of heaven and earth”.

You and I were given two eyes;
one to keep on earth and the other on heaven.

Our Father is “LORD” of both.

The blessed eyes see heaven and earth.

Remember Jesus’ instruction to us about prayer…

Pray, “Thy Kingdom come in earth as it is in heaven”.

Let’s have eyes to see that we can make a difference.

Don’t let the world go to hell, because it is still the Lord’s.

The blessed eyes see we can take the world back for our Lord.

It was not the kings and their social
reform who get to see the blessing.

But common people like the seventy two and “YOU”.

Scripture Reading

Luke 10:17-24 NIV
17 The seventy-two returned with joy and said,
"Lord, even the demons submit to us in your name."

18 He replied, "I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven.  19 I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you. 20 However, do not rejoice that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven."

21 At that time Jesus, full of joy through the Holy Spirit, said, "I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children. Yes, Father, for this was your good pleasure.

22 "All things have been committed to me by my Father. No one knows who the Son is except the Father, and no one knows who the Father is except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him."

23 Then he turned to his disciples and said privately,
"Blessed are the eyes that see what you see.
24 For I tell you that many prophets and kings wanted to see what you see but did not see it, and to hear what you hear but did not hear it."
