Social
Distancing
Our
Purpose Has Not Changed
Our
purpose did not change when the virus came
Although
some churches ignore the social distancing and continued to meet
We
can still fulfill our purpose in self-quarantine
So
many of our personal issues are being revealed
So
we can receive healing and experience deeper peace and joy
We
are discovering ways to share the love of Christ
And
the Gospel of Good News in fresh new ways
Social
distancing does not mean being unsocial
It
means we find new ways to be in contact so the Good News will spread
The Love of Christ reaches to the whole world
Don't let the six feet of Social Distancing get
In the way of fulfilling your purpose
To seeking the Kingdom of God and sharing it with others
The Love of Christ reaches to the whole world
Don't let the six feet of Social Distancing get
In the way of fulfilling your purpose
To seeking the Kingdom of God and sharing it with others
Our
Purpose Has Not Changed
Most of us have not heard of “Social Distancing”
until the outbreak of the Coronavirus.
The Coronavirus also is called Covid-19.
In 2019, the Coronavirus broke out in China
and in early 2020, in America, and
the rest of the world felt its impact.
On March 11, 2020,
The World Health Organization declared…
The
coronavirus outbreak a pandemic –
the
virus will likely spread to all countries on the globe.
Social Distancing closed parks, vacation rentals,
hotels, pools, beaches, boat ramps, etc.
It changed the way businesses
operated or it closed them.
Social Distancing meant people had to stay six
foot apart and not in groups of more than ten.
Schools were closed and all major and
minor sporting event were shutdown.
Churches had to cancel all public meetings.
Social Distancing meant self-quarantine.
Those who did not have essential jobs were
to stay at home to keep the virus from spreading.
So, as Christians who are quarantined
so the virus will not spread,…
How do we fulfill the Great Commission
to spread the Gospel to all the world?
In times of Social Distancing and self-quarantine,
what is our
purpose and how do we fulfill it?
Our purpose has never changed and will never change.
Simply stated
our purpose is found in Matthew 6:33-34…
But
seek first his kingdom and his righteousness,
God’s kingdom is righteousness, peace and joy.
Romans
14:17
The second part to Matthew 6 33, 34 says…
…and
all these things will be given to you as well.
Therefore
do not worry about tomorrow,
for
tomorrow will worry about itself.
Each
day has enough trouble of its own.
Social distancing and self-quarantine does
not change
the purpose of the believer.
First, we look at our own lives.
We need to
ask ourselves…
Are we living
the righteous life?
Are we doing the right things?
This is a good time for a spiritual check up,
Quarantine is a good time to stand before God
like David and allow God to examine our lives.
Search me, O God, and know my heart:
try me, and know my thoughts:
And see if there be any wicked way in me
and lead me in the way everlasting.
Psalms 139:23-24 KJV
Do I need to be healed?
Are there things in my life and
heart that are not right?
This may be a good time to change the
way we do things, so the plans of God
can bring greater fulfillment.
We have to do the right
things to get the right results.
Finding real peace and joy
comes from not worrying…
Learning how to trust God for each day and
not allowing tomorrow’s worries get in the
way of God’s plans for you today.
These things are best accomplished
in times of self-quarantine.
But, what about our purpose to spread
the Gospel to the entire world?
The personal benefit of the Kingdom
is nothing short of amazing.
We love God because He first loved us.
1 John 4:19
God is love.
1 John 4:8,16
The amazing love of God is
to be manifested through us.
We, too, are to love one another.
So how do we do that in self-quarantine?
Covid-19 is full of evil, loss of health, death,
loss of income, separation from loved ones.
But with every evil, God is good.
His intentions are to work out
good for you who love Him.
Romans 8:28
The virus is a wonderful time for us to see God’s
good.
To learn how to fulfill our purpose.
Our purpose did not change
when the virus came.
Although some churches ignore the social
distancing and had continued to meet…
We can still fulfill our purpose in self-quarantine.
So many of our personal issues are being
revealed so we can receive healing and
experience deeper peace and joy.
We are discovering ways to share
the love of Christ and the Gospel of
Good News in fresh new ways.
Social distancing does not mean being unsocial.
It means we
find new ways to be in contact
so the Good News will spread.
The Love of Christ reaches to the whole world.
Don't let the six feet of Social Distancing get
in the way of fulfilling your purpose...
To seeking the Kingdom of God
and sharing it with others.
The Love of Christ reaches to the whole world.
Don't let the six feet of Social Distancing get
in the way of fulfilling your purpose...
To seeking the Kingdom of God
and sharing it with others.
Scripture
Reading
1 John 4:8, 16 NIV
Matthew 6:28-34 NIV
28 "And why do you worry about clothes? See how
the lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. 29 Yet I tell you that
not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 30 If that
is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is
thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?
31 So do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or
'What shall we wear?' 32 For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly
Father knows that you need them. 33 But seek first his kingdom and his
righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34 Therefore
do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has
enough trouble of its own.
Romans 8:28-29 NIV
28 And we know that in all things God works for the
good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.
