Gratitude It is the Sound of Worship

Gratitude
It is the Sound of Worship

The Psalms are maybe
the most loved portion of the Bible
And the reason may be
the overflowing gratitude
from its writers.

There are moments in life
when the simple become so profound.

I can recall many of these moments.

Like lying on the ground on a warm summer night
and looking into the sky.

The overwhelming glory of the stars
takes me to a place of perfect peace.

A place where I feel close to the Creator.

It has been in those times
that I am so grateful that God
created me like the stars.

The same order and balance
He gave the stars,
He gives to me.

I remember another moment in an ordinary day
with an ordinary bag lunch from Wendy’s…

20 years ago sitting at my office desk
a simple prayer of thanks giving
for a chicken sandwich and fries
turned into a profound experience.

I remember that prayer when I thanked God
for the ability to smell the fries.

The amazing way God had made
the tongue with its ability to feel the texture and taste flavors.

I became so overwhelmed with gratitude
I did not mind my food getting cold.

Was it the stars?  Was it the bag lunch?

No, it was gratitude to our amazing God.

Simple moments with a profound impact.

You can have one now.

Put your head back and think of something you enjoy…

Like a Psalmist,
begin to thank God for giving you the ability…

taking nothing for granted…

and give Him thanks!

You could find a little gratitude usher
you into a profound experience.
